    samba share username question

    Ok I got it working, turned on allow guest, then opened the share. turned off allow guest, opened share put in my created user name (one word) and password and it works. go figure.

    Ok I have now tried to setup my network like i did with my old linksys routers running dd-wrt (lan to lan). my ac87 is setup as my main and configured the way i want. i have added my n66 asus router and connected it through ethernet (same as before). so I'm going back to a lan to lan setup...

    (resolved) samba share username question Does anyone know how to bypass the adding a user to the samba share on the asus router that has a space in it? my windows user name has spaces, asus add user does not allow spaces in the username. Thanks

    I dont think i did, what are your settings? i see the options, ap, wds or hybrid. if i use wds then i need wep, also this is if i'm sonnecting through wifi. i'm connected through ethernet so i figured i didn't have to use wds.

    I have the same problem with my ip cameras. when you loose the connectivity on the local lan does the connectivity still work over wan? just asking as my wan connection still works when the upnp goes down. Most frustrating router i have ever owned.

    that sucks, i've been waiting for asus to resolve this. has anyone been able to setup rt-ac87 with another router and have it work? even with the second router having wifi turned off and acting as a switch, i have to reboot the rt-ac87 once a week. it locks up and no internet.

    Thats discouraging for a $300 router. I get products are sold not fully tested and users are used to tweak small bugs, but this seems a little much.
