    Also that chart (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels#5_GHz_.28802.11a.2Fh.2Fj.2Fn.2Fac.29) shows specific bandwidths for the various channels. How can that be if I can choose my own width?

    The router gives me control (at least by it's UI) over a bandwidth (20, 40, 80), regardless of channel.
