    Am I under attack?

Not supposed to block just 1 IP address. I'll usually block the entire chunk belonging to the ISP and some can go as big as /8 :D

    Am I under attack?

This is one of the main reasons that prompted me to upgrade away from consumer routers. With an Ubiquiti EdgeRouter or MikroTik RouterBOARD, you can simply create a firewall rule to drop all packets from your pre-defined Blacklisted IP table and that person won't even have a chance to even...

    Dir-868l

D-Link's firmware is highly restrictive. Go for DD-WRT instead. If you're going that route, choose Kong's instead of Brainslayer's for better 802.11ac performance.

    Product-review: Ubiquiti EdgeRouter Lite

Hi stig, I've finally bought the EdgeRouter Lite to replace the Asus RT-AC68U and everything's working great. v.1.4.0 is just awesome and without a lot of trouble, I managed to get it configured like what I did with the Asus (i.e. port forwarding, PPTP server, static routing, Firewall rules...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.38 is out

A quick question for those with RT-AC68U ... Does the 5GHz LED on the router still blink in a cyclical manner with this firmware even with no traffic going through on that band ? I noticed this 'issue' with .35 and .37 but not on Asus firmware. It's also specific to the RT-AC68U as I...

RT-AC68u VPN for a specific source ip

With RouterOS (on a MikroTik router), you don't even need to bother about applets (or CLI / scripts). You can even run multiple VPN clients (to different VPN servers) channelling pre-specified IP addresses via whichever tunnel you choose. I've already deployed one on my secondary WAN...

RT-AC68u VPN for a specific source ip

I was interested in doing that too but it's not possible on the Asus router (except for Astrill VPN subscribers with their applet). On a MikroTik router that would have been pretty easy.

Intel AC7260 with RT-AC66U works but not with RT-AC68U Why ??

I'm on Win 7 too (as well as OS X Mavericks & Ubuntu). Hated Win 8 and still disliking 8.1 :p In my previous post, I was referring to the 5GHz band. No reason for me to link the AC 7260 with my RT-AC68U on 2.4GHz Band. My 5GHz is set to 80MHz on the router. On the AC 7260 everything is...

Intel AC7260 with RT-AC66U works but not with RT-AC68U Why ??

That same combo (RT-AC68U w/ .542 firmware & AC 7260 w/ 16.6.0 driver) has been working really well for me. Stable (& Fast !) connection. I'm getting 280Mbps when tested using Iperf in the same room. Check your settings and if all is good, then perhaps one of those devices is faulty.

    Asus Firmware 3.0.0.4.374.542 Released

Didn't try this firmware on my AC56U (yet) but on the AC68U, I'm getting pretty similar performance as .454 and .501 on the 5GHz band. AC7260 <--> AC68U <--> wired PC, tested 280Mbps using Iperf

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.37 is out

Thanks for clearing it up, RMerlin. Strange thing is that my RT-AC56U (Media Bridge mode connected to the RT-AC68U) is still on your .37 firmware and its 5GHz performance is now back to when it was on .454. The only variable here is the firmware on the RT-AC68U Router (.37 --> .501). Not...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.37 is out

Thanks, Merlin. I respect your conclusion on the non-issue (5GHz WiFi specifically) of your .37 firmware. Anyways, just to share (not expecting anything from your end) : I re-flashed my RT-AC68U (router mode) to Asus' 501 firmware and the 5GHz performance is back to where the 454 firmware...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.37 is out

Thanks for the reply. I can confirm that my AC56U is connected to the AC68U on 80MHz mode. I'm getting 866Mbps TX/RX when they are close to each other (about 3 metres in the same room). The weaker signal (.37 vs .454) is only apparent if the 2 devices are further apart (eg. different room...
