ASUS RT-AC66R Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.374.726 "DUAL WAN"

I was thinking 'what if load balancing also had failover intelligence?' Then my tests stumbled in this problem, and routes initially seem to defeat the intent of baking failover in load balancing. Perhaps marking packets with different categories: (no mark: use default load balancing rules)...

ASUS RT-AC66R Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.374.726 "DUAL WAN"

Let me describe my test scenario a little better: Modem 1 (Primary WAN): IP: 192.168.10.1 Subnet 192.168.10.0/24 ISP: GVT DNS 1: 200.175.89.139 DNS 2: 200.175.182.139 Modem 2 (Secondary WAN): IP: 192.168.20.1 Subnet 192.168.20.0/24 ISP: NET DNS 3: 201.21.192.162 DNS 4...

ASUS RT-AC66R Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.374.726 "DUAL WAN"

If you unplug the secondary WAN it goes back to the primary. At least it did in the previous versions. I have tried load balancing, and that seems to be more problematic. I could only browse the internet for a few minutes, and it would fail intermittently. It also does not accept...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.33 Beta 1 available

Is there a way to 'mess up' with the interface without having to compile the whole firmware? Like, if I enable jffs and/or add a HDD, is there a directory where it looks for a js file to load and extend the page functionality? I can elaborate more on the idea if it is interesting, and...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.33 Beta 1 available

Does load-balancing (when it gets fixed) have failover intelligence in it? I mean, if I have a dual wan load balancing and one of them goes offline, will all traffic go to the other wan?

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.33 Beta 1 available

Found 2 bugs on the Port Forwarding interface: 1) It does not accepts values above 255 in the Port Range, it should accept values up to 65536. 2) When selecting Protocol: OTHER, there is no field to input the protocol number. I have filed 2 bugs at the Github repo.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.33 Beta 1 available

Yes I am well aware of this issue, I have posted more as a way to leave a hint about a good channel for people having 802.11d related problems. For the uninitiated, 802.11d brings together under a single standard which channels are valid on each country flag, since not all countries allow...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.33 Beta 1 available

Tried to set up dual wan in load balancing mode, but it didn't work. Couldn't get it to work with the previous version either. Recent Mac models may have trouble with wifi. My 2011 MacBook Pro definitively does not like channel auto, and channel 40. I haven't done an exhaustive search. Channel...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.32 is out

Good news: If I have dual-wan in failover mode, and the primary disconnects, it works as advertised. Second wan takes over. Now, once the primary WAN comes back online ( I have tried unplugging and re-plugging the cable), the traffic does not come back to the primary WAN. Is that the...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.32 is out

Thanks for the quick reply. I am thinking about using the dnsmaq.conf.add to create at least two different groups of clients to use dual wan. If you guys can clarify if what I intend will work, I will be grateful. 1) I want to use 2 ethernet ports for dual wan. Is it possible? 2) If I...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.32 is out

Is the RT-AC66R the same hardware as the RT-AC66U? Can I just flash the Merlin U firmware in the R model without (extra) fear of bricking?
