    port forward via the router

I am totally blind... So essentially, setting the "Redirect Internet traffic" to "No" will make my internet traffic act normally, except when I reach out to my server's IP address? That is perfect!

    port forward via the router

I assume that would be the interface type of TAP versus TUN? I'm looking on the OpenVPN clients page and didn't see a specific option for Redirect Traffic. Would using a tunnel like that add more overhead than I need? I was hoping to be a bit lazy and use the existing SSH daemon on my server...

    port forward via the router

Hello! I recently got a nice big dedicated server sitting in a data center that I'd like to have a Samba share running on (yes, I am well aware of the security requirements for having a share like that on the wide internet. I have it covered.) Comcast, in all of their infinite glory, decided...

    How to Improve Buffer Bloat

That would have the added benefit of being able to hassle ISPs when speeds aren't where they should be.

pull usage data from RT-AC68U via python

Hi everyone, I was wondering there was a "simple" way to run Python scripts on the RT-AC68U running Asuswrt-Merlin. Mostly, I want to modify this script so that it looks at the current speeds, sees if there is a network traffic, then runs a speed test if there is not a lot at the time...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56_2 is now available

Doesn't that defeat the purpose of doing the nvram wipe? Any bad values would be restored. I did magically fix my issue by unplugging the router for ~1 minute, then restarting it. No idea why that worked over a reboot.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56_2 is now available

Oh good, I am not the only one with 5Ghz issues... Now to find out why it is borked. I'd do a factory reset, but I really don't want to lose my DHCP configs.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 374.40 is out

Is there anything helpful I can provide if my RT-AC68U had a reboot? Nothing terribly interesting happened in the system log. A few "Mar 24 12:05:23 dnsmasq-dhcp[783]: DHCPACK(br0)" messages, then it rebooted.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 374.40 Beta 2 is available

B3 is the latest for AC-68U

    Asuswrt-Merlin 374.40 Beta 2 is available

How has stability been for people with the AC-68U? I saw some initial stability issues, but wanted to see if this would impact me too much...

    ASUS RT-AC68R how improve Wireless

The best I could suggest is physically changing the location of the router. You could in theory boost power output on the transmitter, but I don't have much knowledge on that.

Access JFFS via samba or FTP?

You need to enable SSH to use WinSCP.

What Speeds Can I Expect From AC68U As An OpenVPN Client?

I had struggles running the VPN on the router, and just stick to using it in my PC. I get great speeds with PIA

    Asuswrt-Merlin 374.39 is out

SmartDNS is not the same as VPN in any way, shape, or form. In addition, the Smart DNS services are not always faster. I did some extensive testing of lookups, etc and found that the Comcast DNS is significantly faster than any public DNS servers around me.

    ipv6: Neighbour table overflow

Going to update the first post with this, but I was finally able to clear the messages by manually echoing individual lines to a jffs script (I couldn't get jffs to mount in samba). Here is the script I used: #!/bin/sh # Workaround IPv6 neighbour overflow rm -rf /tmp/init-start.ran echo...

    ipv6: Neighbour table overflow

I just did ping -t Google.com from my PC.

    ipv6: Neighbour table overflow

I actually think that this issue caused some of my packet loss. After actually implementing the workaround, I haven't seen any lost packets.

    ipv6: Neighbour table overflow

I was finally able to get these values to change by making an init script on the JFFS mount (which took work since the thing doesn't want to mount in Samba).

RT-AC68U: When IPv6 is enabled, losing packets

When I have IPv6 enabled on my RT-AC68U, I am losing between 1-5% of my packets. The issue seems to be semi-sporadic unfortunately. I don't believe it is Comcast related, since this issue was not happening with the RT-N16 I had running Tomato. Is there anyway to prove if it is hardware...

TomatoUSB is looking for someone to test

I would love to see some solid performance numbers comparing Tomato and ASUS-WRT / Merlin's Builds. If I recall, Tomato doesn't have the hardware acceleration, so it would be missing a good chunk of speed.
