Looking at an AC86U. Are there still issues with the 2.4Ghz band?

Sorry to dig up an older thread... but @binarydad (or anyone else) were you able to compare bandwidth/throughput between ac68u/ac86u with only one being up at a time and similar configs? Am in similar position... looking to upgrade from 68u and wondering 86u or ax86u or anything at all! Main...

    Fork 380.57 HGG-FINAL

yeah @kvic, this fork does make me a bit uncomfortable from all the secrecy... just wanted to fix my son's room's and my bedroom's lack of wifi coverage... will try and put it at 70% or maybe i'll go with Merlin's or John's forks... time willing...

    Fork 380.57 HGG-FINAL

What are the valid channels in USA (sorry being lazy here!)? Am on Ch 1 for 2.4 & 149 for 5g, I assume I'm ok since I saw some other devices/neighbours on similar channels. Also hopefully 75% doesn't exceed any US regulation! Don't want to undermine any FCC regs. PS: Am on AC66R(U)

    disable one radio of RT-AC66R/U

lol - i guess i'll dispose it somehow... and while we're here, any worthwhile replacement for ac66? its 5ghz range sucks (for me). Maybe Merlin's fw may address it, hopefully w/o overheating... but don't mind an overall better one

    disable one radio of RT-AC66R/U

Hello Everyone, I have a Netgear WNDR3700vV1 and ASUS RT-AC66R (U) sitting next to each other. I've disabled the 5ghz radio on the netgear and 2.4ghz radio on the asus to reduce interference and load. Is this a good setup to have to get best performance out of both these devices (w.r.t range...
