Solved VPN using Exclusive DNS still queries default ISP servers (RT-AC86U + 386.4)

That's my understanding as well..... When I tested 'strict' by dumping the dnsmasq stats it appeared to work as advertised (although that was a while ago). There's also an nvram only setting on my fork (vpn_reverse_strict) which does what the name implies....

Let's Encrypt to revoke about 2 million certificates

It's related to a particular mode to validate the certificate ownership....TLS-ALPN. It's used when the validation needs to occur over http/https, but for some reason the default http port 80 is unavailable. (I use it because my ISP, Cox, blocks port 80 and my domain is registered with Google...

    Beta [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 53D1

Unfortunately, the complete syslog didn't provide any insights....ipv6 interface is detected, but the initialization dies.... Jan 1 02:00:18 wan6: wan6 interface eth0 is up ... Jan 21 23:13:31 rdnssd[423]: Child process hung up unexpectedly, aborting Only things I can think of to try are (1)...

386.4 Wifi Radar Site Survey doesn't see any other networks

Sorry if I wasn't clear....for each radio, if you have MAC filtering active, site survey won't work. MAC filtering on 2.4GHz,. no 2.4GHz survey.....on for 5GHz, no 5GHz survey.

Also won't work if you have MAC filtering active for that radio.

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 52E7

It looks like you changed the syslog loglevel......are the two loglevel settings under Administration > System set to the defaults? But this is at least one problem.... Jan 21 13:47:20 rdnssd[423]: Child process hung up unexpectedly, aborting Please append a screenshot of your IPv6 settings...

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 52E7

Are there any messages in the syslog relating to IPv6?

Something Not working correctly with hostname of router screwing up Time Machine

It's a bug in avahi-daemon, I think unique to IPv6, where avahi detects it's own probe as a duplicate hostname and adds a number suffix. There are a couple of fixes in release 0.8 (the router is on 0.7) which help, but I don't think it's completely fixed. @RMerlin, I've backported the fixes to...

Testing different versions of Merlin / Merlin's Forks - How to safely switch?

No, my fork uses the same partitioning as the latest Merlin....along with the code to convert/expand the partition if needed. Being smaller, it can also fit into the smaller partitions used by DD-WRT/Tomato.

    Beta [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 53D1

Thanks for the help @ColinTaylor Just a remember that both post-mount and unmount custom scripts get passed the name of the mount point in case you have multiple USB partitions.....

Testing different versions of Merlin / Merlin's Forks - How to safely switch?

If you try DD-WRT or Tomato, you may need to do a 'step' install to get back to the latest Merlin or ASUS code due to differences in partitioning. I have a set of builds that are known to work. https://1drv.ms/f/s!Ainhp1nBLzMJrUrURsdDuWy5NzM7

    Beta [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 53D1

I was right, the router can't successfully umount the drive. But.... first thing I would take care of is Jan 15 20:20:31 kernel: EXT2-fs (sda1): error: couldn't mount because of unsupported optional features (240) this is usually due to formatting the drive on another, more modern kernel...

    Beta [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 53D1

Really don't have a good idea here....The fork takes care of shutting down apps it knows about on the reboot, before it umounts the USB partitions. The only thing I can think of is that something is holding on to the drive/partition preventing it from properly being unmounted. Does the syslog...

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 52E7

DNSMASQ downlevel build 52D8 For anyone experiencing what may seem to be 'strange' DHCP/DNS issues, I have placed a 52D8 build in the Development-Beta folder. This build only rolls back dnsmasq/getdns/stubby to the previous releases. Some things that have been reported on the latest dnsmasq...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 is now available

I think it even gets worse....on my OpenWRT build, getdns 1.7 (part of stubby DoT) isn't playing nice with dnsmasq 2.85. I had to roll that back as well. (@RMerlin....FYI)

    AC88U with 386.4 - DHCP lost after a day

Reports are that dnsmasq 2.86 is having some problems (it made another build I am working on unusable).... I wouldn't spend a lot of time trying to debug problems until a new dnsmasq release is available (the repository is currently at 2.87test5)
