    RT-AC68U Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.385_20433

I've run the official Asus firmware of ages. I always update simply by clicking the firmware update check button but for at least the last week (could be since I installed 385_20433, not sure?) the check button just shows "The router is checking the ASUS server for the firmware update" and spins...

    RT-AC68U Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.385_20433

So you say to go back a major version level. Why is that? Are there known bugs in v385.xxx?

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 is now available

That doesn't address the issue. As I stated - The README instructions need to be changed from saying "do a factory reset" to "do a factory restore" or "do a factory initialize", whichever is deemed required. There is no "Factory Reset" button in the UI so it is not clear to punters which is...

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 is now available

Can the README be fixed to clarify this please?! I just updated to 384.4 and followed the README. It says best to "reset to factory defaults" (in a number of places) after updating from 380. When I go to the web UI I see a "Factory Default Restore" or a "Factory Default Initialize" neither of...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56_2 is now available

I don't see the Switch Control tab at all, as you suggest because I am using AP mode. So then the way it currently works is incorrect, that link should not be displayed on the Traffic Analyser page in AP mode and it is a awful bug that it disappears after you disable the NAT accel setting.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56_2 is now available

Also, if you fix the above can you please fix another related bug? On the Traffic Monitor page there is an obscure comment "Click HERE to disable NAT Acceleration" where HERE is a URL to http://192.168.1.1/Advanced_SwitchCtrl_Content.asp. That page does not seem to be accessible from anywhere...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56_2 is now available

Please consider adding this to the readme, and most definitely fix the GUI so the IPTraffic option is disabled and in-sensitive if in AP mode. Just needless confusion and frustration for users otherwise. :(

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56_2 is now available

The readme.merlin.txt description of how to use the "Enhanced Traffic Monitoring" is confusing. I can switch it on but I never see any per IP data. Does it not work in Access Point mode? Also, the readme is not clear whether you can use IPTraffic and store to RAM? Certainly the GUI allows me to...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.50 is out

Thanks Merlin, that was it. I remember turning that on when I set up this new firmware but I could not see any new function so I turned it off again. After a reboot now it shows "Enabled" for h/w acceleration. BTW, it seems the IPTraffic on/off option is offered in AP mode but the function...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.50 is out

I have a RT-AC68U on 3.0.0.4.378.50 (+ factory reset) running in Access Point mode. On my Tools page "HW Acceleration" is shown as "Disabled - incompatible with:" but no reason is stated. Is this normal?

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.50 is out

I upgraded from 49_5 (with a factory reset for the first time since my first Merlin long ago) and just came to say it seems to be working well. I only run my router in AP mode. The webui seems much faster. When I factory reset long ago the UI defaulted to the same SSID for both 2.4 and 5G...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.48 is out

I've been maintaining ssh servers on various boxes around the world over the last 15 years and these bot login attempts have always been normal to see. It's just ocean waves lapping at the dyke wall.
