    Asus RT-AC56U

RT-AC56U will be able to support your speeds. I have 600/600Mbps connection myself and RT-AC56U works just fine. The only problem with the router is abysmal 2.4ghz wifi. I can't squeeze more than 25Mbps down even though there are no other wifi nearby. On the other hand 5ghz is very good :)...

Which one should I get? Asus RT-N66U VS AC-56U

If you don't need solid 2.4ghz performance I would go with AC56U The only problem that I am facing with this router is abysmal 2.4Ghz performance. 5Ghz on the other hands works perfectly Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

WiFi performance of RT-AC56U slower than older RT-N56U. Why?

Hi, I am also a owner of RT-AC56U I had my router replaced 3 times by warranty due to different things but the wifi problem stayed the same. The 2.4Ghz on this router is just terrible and there is no known way to improve it. I know atleast one more person in my vicinity who owns RT-AC56U and...

    $9 Router Cooling (RT-AC68U Example)

I bought those fans from local electronics shop in Lithuania. These fans are 12V but 5V supplied by usb is enough to spin them at a decent rpm :)

WD 2TB HDD disconnects every week

Ok so I did the surface scan with Hdtune software. The disk is completely fine, no bad blocks detected. So I guess it has something to do with the router itself. In my previous post I forgot to mention that i'm using johns fork as my router fw Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

Hello, I have 2TB WD External desktop HDD. The file system that i'm using is EXT2. On this HDD i run transmission daemon and store media files. The problem is that every week 7-8days it becomes red in the UI (Says that it wasn't cleanly unmounted) and remounts as sdb1. I ran e2fsck multiple...

Hi everyone. I have RT-AC56U running latest merlinwrt. My ISP provides my with internet and iptv. IPTV comes with tagged vlan6 and everything else is untagged. What I want to do is pass both tagged vlan6 and untagged vlan through one port to a managed switch which then separates tagged vlan6...

    LAN with VLAN IPTV setup

Yeah I guess a managed switch is the best way to go. Now the question is - is it possible to configure rt-ac56u to pass taggeg vlan6 and untagged vlan via one port?

    LAN with VLAN IPTV setup

I currently have only 1 TV but i'm planning to get another one. The current IPTV STB is connected directly from RT-AC56U with vlan6 and i get internet to TV via wi-fi, however rt-ac56U 2.4ghz wifi is extremely bad so i want to connect current tv with cable aswell

    LAN with VLAN IPTV setup

I don't really want to play with Ethernet over power adapters. These things are quite rare and expensive here in Lithuania. What would happen if I connect 2 cables from RT-Ac56U to another router? One with VLAN6 and other with LAN ? Another router is VLAN capable so maybe that would work?

    LAN with VLAN IPTV setup

Hello everyone. I have a question about a network setup that I want to adapt. My ISP provides internet and IPTV which comes from tagged VLAN6. VLAN6 is then switched from my router to a IPTV STB which then connects to tv via HDMI cable. The problem with this is that with this setup my tv's are...

    Archer C7 V2 vs. Asus RT-N66U vs. Archer C8

I have Archer C7 V2 and RT-AC56U If we look at these two routers then C7 takes the cake. I get a much stronger signal with it. I tried both the original firmware and openwrt on the C7 but didn't see any significant differences. My RT-AC56U is running RMerlin fork with increased tx power

    Setting VLANs in nvram

Yes, im sure I have AC56U I'm running latest merlin fork. But these commands worked for me since summer with all firmware versions You don't have internet because with your setup WAN takes vlan6 which is meant for iptv.
