    I don't know how to fix your issue, but I can tell you how I update afraid.org. I use dnsomatic.com to update both opendns and afraid.org. Then you just need to set up the WAN-DDNS page on your router to use dnsomatic.

    I can live with all of that if governments can never turn this world into 1984. Nope, far too many "normal" people use it that they couldn't possibly filter the noise. Even then they just know encrypted stuff happened. Unless, you live in a repressive authoritarian regime you're good.

    OS X doesn't natively support the ext file system, which is what is required. There might be 3rd party tools, but I can't speak to that. NVRAM holds many many settings, none of which are stored in JFFS. Some one smarter than me, correct me if I'm wrong...

    I think you can use this guide on the wiki, https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin/wiki/Using-ipset , and change iptables -I INPUT to OUTPUT. Edit: Please disregard what I said. That would only block access to exit nodes, which no one on your LAN would be connecting to directly.

    I'm in the same boat. What I do is run Linux (any distro should do) in a virtual machine. I think virtualbox is free.

    Latest firmware has stopped local DNS connections

    I've had the same issue on the AC66U in a mixed network. I'm wondering if it's related to one of these lines in /etc/dnsmasq.conf: dhcp-option=lan,6,208.67.222.222,208.67.220.220,0.0.0.0 dhcp-option=lan,252,"\n" Shouldn't the 0.0.0.0 be 192.168.1.1? Also, a newline character seems odd to me...

    Just finished a 4000 mile road trip with my RT-AC66U. The responses above, but in hotels with wired connections and a login page, change the MAC address on your laptop to match your router, log in, then plug in the router.

    I haven't looked into the new ddns script thing, but I have a similar setup. I use dnsomatic to update my domain at afraid.org.

    Must be a regional thing. I've had the same /64 from TWC since I first enabled it on the router and after many reboots. I can't speak for TWC's DNS. I've been using dnscrypt on the router for v6 from day 1.

    If you're using tcp over openvpn, you're encapsulating tcp over tcp. That should be worse in nearly every case. What if your inner tcp neads control over timeout or retransmission? Congestion avoidance? That won't make it to the other end of the outer tcp stream. Also the overhead of a tcp...

    You can change the verbosity with the verb option. Add this to your .conf or Custom Configuration at the bottom of the VPN Details tab: verb 4 1 is the least verbose. I'm not sure how high you can go.
