    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.59 is now available

I did a "factory reset" and manually configured the device again but the behavior remains! Is there a way to set the channel from command line? Just to test something else...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.59 is now available

Setup: Two ac66u running .59 (router + access point). I have trouble setting the channels manually. If I disables auto and set the channel to lets say 100 (5 GHz). Then after "applying settings" the GUI shows auto again and the channel is set to *some* frequency mostly not 100... (bandwith...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56 Beta 2 is out

    Ops, checked my two systems, one in router-mode and one in access-point mode and both showed this (2 x AC66U/beta2) : Upgraded from 55 -> 56beta2. No factory reset. # df -kh Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on /dev/root 20.9M 20.9M 0 100% / tmpfs 117.0M 6.6M 110.3M 6% /tmp...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.55 is now available

Changing channel in 5 GHz does not seams to work. (AC66U). 5 GHz: The channel always reverts to "auto" after Apply. I have two devices (one in router-mode and one in ap-mode) and I see this on both. In earlier fw I have had no problem changing channel to separate my two devices. EDIT: I can...

I can also report much more stable WiFi (AC66U) on our Apple devices (iPhones 4,5,6 and iPads) compared to .50. No more random delays and much faster net access after "sleeping/dark devices". I do not have any hard evidence but the "feeling" is much better.

    Enabling Port mirroring Asus RT-AC66U

I have used those lines ( <ip> is the receiver of the mirrored traffic ): # iptables -A PREROUTING -t mangle -j ROUTE --gw <ip> --tee # iptables -A POSTROUTING -t mangle -j ROUTE --gw <ip> --tee And to turn off (or a reboot): # iptables -F -t mangle Tested on: 378.50 / AC66U

    iOS 8.1 performance

I also encounter this problem from time to time, ie bad performance from ios devices (iPhone 6 and iPad Air). Today I got ~0,5 Mbit/s up and down and sluggish net performance... Tested several things on *both* devices (in this order), "flight mode on/off", "forget network", "restart device"...

SECURITY: LAN-side security hole - mitigation

Thanks for your answer. But are the instructions in post #1 valid for a router in "AP mode"? It looks like the firewall-start is not executed in this mode. Right? Or is it just me?

SECURITY: LAN-side security hole - mitigation

I have my second router in "AP Mode". Is this also affected? I ran the "iptables -L" on this and it looks "empty" before I apply the firewall rule. Is this normal? # iptables -L Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT)...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.49 is out

My static and dynamic range is not in the same range. They are strictly separated. But the dynamic range (in my case 10 ip numbers) is determining the value dhcp-lease-max=10 in /etc/dnsmasq.conf . And this value blocked devices from getting ip numbers, dynamic and static. When I made the...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.49 is out

I am answering myself. I have made a discovery and possible found the issue... I have about 25 static mac+ip in my DHCP table. I prefer to assign ip with DHCP, but keep a static table to have the devices always have the same ip over time. Additionally to the 25 static ip numbers I have a...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.49 is out

I am seeing the exact same behavior. I have about 20 static mac+ip in my DHCP-table and after some time I also got "no leases left". This on devices working for weeks with previous version (ie 376.48_3 (20-Nov-2014)). A reboot solved the problem for half a day, but I got the problem back now...

    Open ports

Thanks for your answer, I killed the "lpd" process (ie kill -9 nnn) and this closed the ports 515 and 9100. Could this do any bad things? If not, I can put this is some suitable startup script to be performed every boot. Is it safe to kill u2ec the same way? What is the u2ec thing...
