Traces of cynicism and truth showing through. Beware of re-education visits from the thought police.

    ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 6ghz

Do you have special characters in your password(s). Some devices only like alpha-numeric in their PWs. I bought a usb wifi device from Amazon this week and it wouldn't login until I changed the PW to alpha-numeric.

    Release ASUS RT-AX86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_49447 (2022/06/20)

I downloaded the original offering at 76.94GB and I always validate the file against the checksum and it was valid. I just did the same against the zip.zip offering. It was also valid using the checksum from the original download. It looks like it was just a bit of finger trouble on the DL...

    Release ASUS RT-AX86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_49447 (2022/06/20)

It's showing on my router's GUI but not yet on the download page. After the last fiasco of an update to this router that bricked a few, I'm waiting a bit to see other peoples experiences.

Any Known Incompatibility older ASUS AC68R and Windows 11?

My WiFi password is more than double the length of yours and includes upper and lower case and with several special characters. It has survived both Win 10 & Win 11 PCs (Intel WiFi and also some other brand), multiple brands of phones, a 2014 iPad, a 2021 iPad, several Brother printers, and 3 LG...

"Anonymous" device name and log entries. Being hacked?

This sort of thing happens periodically on my network. We have several Apple and Android devices and after updates I often find a "new" address shows up on the network. I then have to check all of these devices to find the current rogue. It seems that some updates change the MACaddr back to...

    Laptop WiFi 6E Adapter Upgrades

These connectors on the antenna cables are not designed to be disconnected and reconnected indefinitely. See the image below. I can't give a link to it but it was part of the info on Amazon relating to a wifi part. See the text which indicates a very limited connect / disconnect life.

    Laptop WiFi 6E Adapter Upgrades

One other minor detail, the Intel AX210 comes in two form factors. There is the M2 plugin size of 22x30 mm. There is also a 12x16 mm size which is soldered in and for most of us cannot be changed unless you have special skills. I have an ASUS laptop with one of the latter adapters. I also have a...

    RT-AX86U Poor wireless downlink performance

You may need to manually trim your laptop drive. You may also need to adjust the trim interval. Please indicate your operating system so you may get advice on these things. Of course, you may also Google for them. Another thought is that you have a cheaper drive and have exhausted the fast...

Any way to get 5ghz channels 149+ on UK bought Asus routers?

Some routers have it. This is my AX86U bought from Amazon Australia in March 2021. It came with Australian electricals in the box. This setting is on the Wireless / Professional page for both 5GHz and 2.4GHz. Apart from the Default, there is no recommendation on what setting to use. I don't know...

[Root Cause Found] RT-AX88U Can't get link speed over 866.7Mbps with AX210 or AC-9260 WIFI in laptops (160MHz)

What a great outcome. I would like to get one just to get some clear 6E channels to WiFi on. I have a desktop with an AX211 and a laptop with an AX210 and some other WiFi gadgets. However, it seems that the AXE11000 is not yet sold in Australia. I looked at buying one on Amazon US and the price...

when was the last signature update for your AX86U ?

Not for my machine and not even after I forced a CHECK. I'm a long way away here in Australia and everything takes longer.

I have an AX86U on ASUS standard FW and my Trend Micro sig is 2.284 and dated January 8. There is a CHECK button that can be used to see if there is a later version.

AX3000 - After restoring config password doesn't work

What do you want to do? Is it ASUS or Merlin? If ASUS then just full factory reset it and manually configure. Do not use a saved config file. There is something wrong with it. It might be PEBKAC. If you want Merlin then factory reset the router, load Merlin, manually load your config. Do not use...

AX3000 - After restoring config password doesn't work

I have an AX86U and see the screen copy below which might give you an idea of your problem. Unless someone here comes up with a fix it sounds like you may need help from ASUS.

    Unknown MAC Address in logs

go to Network Map > Client Status and click on the image associated with the offending device. Then block the internet for that device. If it is an intruder there for the internet then they might go away. I looked at the wireless filter and couldn't work out if it is a whitelist or a blacklist...
