    I have a netgear n-600 router, gigabit. It's in my office as is my cable modem and server, and main laptop. I can get 110 MB/s from server to laptop ssd when in the office, about 30 ft of cable length. From laptop to server I get 50 MB/s most likely due to the parity drive. No problem...

    Just an update- I ended up building an 8 TB NAS box, with 8 on board SATA ports to expand, for just over 500.00 complete. Using unraid as the OS. :) Tons of room for expansion by just adding 4TB at a time. Thanks for all your input!
