On the new firmware for approx. 4 weeks with no speed reduction. From my perspective, the ecb6200 with the new firmware is rock solid.

Since the firmware update, my 6200's have been perfect. I think they fixed it!

Pinotphile, thanks for posting this. I just updated my two ecb6200's and it went fine. I had to swap out my original HTPC for my backup for other reasons so it may not be representative of the original problem but all is working fine so far.

Pec, any chance you could post the firmware update or provide a link?

Interesting. So you got a confirming effect on the Mac but with the opposite setting and no effect on the PC. The common denominator remains flow control either off or on as the trigger. Our configurations differ quite a bit a HTPC as the client, a Cisco switch, 6200's over coax. a TP-link...

I agree there is something wrong with the adapters. Under no circumstances should they permanently downshift when presented with pause frames. I'm just trying to find a workaround as they do provide a lot more speed than the ecb6000's and it's probably going to take Actiontec quite a while to...

Sorry to hear that imelan. Pinotphile, so your configuration is router -6200/6200 -router? I have a NAS -TPLink C9 Archer at one end -6200/6200-Cisco sw-HTPC. I wonder if it's the fact you don't have a cisco switch in between? imelan, did you see pause frames in your switch on the individual ports?

jmelan, thanks for the feedback. I had to reset the adapters after changing the flow control parameters as well.

I would agree that manufacturers should test for 90% of users configurations. I think the 90% for Actiontec may be the service provider set top boxes and not end user PC/NAS configurations. To further complicate the issue, when I take my win8 laptop and test across the 6200's, I get 80MB/s!. So...

My previous settings were fine with Moca1.1 also. It wasn't until I tried to go past 100Mbps that I encounted issues. I'm on my 2nd day with speeds in excess of 360Mbps and no fallback to 1Mbps one way. Disable flow control and report back, what do you have to lose? If you elect to try it, make...

I also disabled flow control on the HTPC ethernet adapter.

I have the same issue and I think I'm on to something but it's only been 10 hours or so. I have a Cisco managed switch and noticed it reporting many pause frames. I took flow control off the end points and the switch ports. My speed returned to about 400Mb/s and has been stable. Flow control can...

I reported the issue to Actiontec and they said there is no software/firmware. Just a bridge from coax to ethernet so they don't understand how the speed could reduce without attenuation. My ecb6000's work fine so something is causing the reduction in speed for all of us.

Ditto for me. I just added two ecb6200's and within a few days, the speed dropped to under 1mbps. I power reset and the appropriate speed returned.

    Disappointing results with Moca

Ok Steve. Just to clarify, in my case the 300mbps is useful throughput at the TCP layer 3.

    Disappointing results with Moca

If you test against a NAS, You should be getting 600~800 mbps. I'm getting 300mbps plus on the non bonded ECB6000's.

    MoCA 2.0 Actiontech ECB6000

Steve, I'm sure I changed the settings at some point trying to squeeze more speed out of the old configuration. The throughput limitation of around 12MB/s went unnoticed until I got the ECB6000's that replaced the moca 1.1 devices and raised the connection speed above 100mb/s. I have retested...

I've now fixed the Win 7 computer slow transfer issue (11~12.5 MB/s). I downloaded the TCP Optimizer app and set the parameters to "optimal". Reboot the computer and now the speed is 35MB/s across the ECB 6000's to the Synology 212j, almost a three fold improvement. It appears optimizing the TCP...

Yeah I ordered the drives to expand storage and get an upgraded NAS with dual ethernet. The actual NAS issue was resolution was posted earlier. I downgraded the firmware to Synology ver 5.1 from 5.2 and turned off opportunistic locking. Got 70 ~90 MB/s after those changes. Not sure which one it...

You've asked this multiple times. No confusion here. I ran the Network planning dept's for the largest retailer and later for the largest mutual fund company in the US. Built WAN and LAN networks worldwide. Not bragging, just giving some references so you have some confidence in my comments...
