Can we discuss how to generate our own keys/certs for ASUS OpenVPN?

I don't think you can use client keys AND "allow only specified clients" at the same time. Because I unchecked the latter and it began to work.

Can we discuss how to generate our own keys/certs for ASUS OpenVPN?

Bro I am referencing my client config file. Not the server config file.

Can we discuss how to generate our own keys/certs for ASUS OpenVPN?

Check my post a page back, it shows me config. static.key is the key I am using for tls-auth.

Can we discuss how to generate our own keys/certs for ASUS OpenVPN?

Username / Password Auth. Only I already turned to no so that I could use the keys, since I did that, and even specified my keys, I am getting the errors in the other post a page back.

Can we discuss how to generate our own keys/certs for ASUS OpenVPN?

The gui doesn't throw an error about the certificates being incorrect anymore, and, I specified manually all of the cert files in my config file with directional 1 option and was able to authenticate to the server.

Can we discuss how to generate our own keys/certs for ASUS OpenVPN?

Sorry I forgot to mention the server keys themselves and what not are working now ^^; that's why I moved onto client keys.

Can we discuss how to generate our own keys/certs for ASUS OpenVPN?

I've got all the other certs working now except for the client 1 key/cert. Is there a specific way to specify the reference to the files in the config? this is what my config file looks like: client dev tun proto udp remote 1.2.3.4 1194 float cipher AES-256-CBC comp-lzo adaptive keepalive 15...

Can we discuss how to generate our own keys/certs for ASUS OpenVPN?

000111, when you create the client1 key how exactly do you know that it's working or specified? On the ASUS router I don't see any options to require a client key, however, looking into the server config file I saw the line "client-cert-not-required" and commented it out, generated client1 key...

Can we discuss how to generate our own keys/certs for ASUS OpenVPN?

If I enable server 2 and let it configure itself with the default params/keys, The "SERVER CERTIFICATE" field has the ACTUAL server certificate information.. it STARTS with Certificate: Data: Version: 3 (0x2) Serial Number: 1 (0x1) Signature Algorithm...

Can we discuss how to generate our own keys/certs for ASUS OpenVPN?

Okay I think I know what the issue is...the text field for entering your actual certificate information is constrained to too few characters. It's truncating the end of the certificate, maybe because I wanted it to generate a 2048-bit key? Either way, the certificate is incomplete which must...

Can we discuss how to generate our own keys/certs for ASUS OpenVPN?

So what goes before here: Certificate: Data: ..data here.. Signature Algorithm: md5WithRSAEncryption ...key and after?

Can we discuss how to generate our own keys/certs for ASUS OpenVPN?

All of the keys have headers and footers except for the server certificate itself.

Can we discuss how to generate our own keys/certs for ASUS OpenVPN?

when I do ls -l in that directory the server.crt key shows as being 0 bytes meaning no lines, when I perform cat on it to view the contents it's sure enough empty, is that normal?

Can we discuss how to generate our own keys/certs for ASUS OpenVPN?

Yes I believe I am, I'm doing a Ctrl + a and copy/paste. I am comparing the data from the keys and the ca.key file that's in my router has different data than the ca.key file I just generated. I'm doing a process of elimination to find the field in the GUI that has the mismatched key but none...

Can we discuss how to generate our own keys/certs for ASUS OpenVPN?

Hi, I followed the howto here: https://openvpn.net/index.php/open-source/documentation/howto.html#pki and got all of the keys and cert files. I copied the values of the information into the "content modification of keys and certification" but when I save the changes the OpenVPN says on the...

There's a serious problem with 378.55 and OpenVPN.

So on my home PC running Windows 10 I followed the same method and was able to get the key to work this time by just doing a straight copy paste. I must have experienced the same looping issue because when I upgraded from the stock firmware to Merlin I left the DH key field with the text I had...

There's a serious problem with 378.55 and OpenVPN.

I used openSSL-64 on Windows 7 and I open the params file with notepad++. Is there an alternative/approved method?

There's a serious problem with 378.55 and OpenVPN.

Oh man...I don't really want to do it again but if I recall there was no error it just said, when I updated the DH key, that it was "waiting on event chpass" or something. As far as the line breaks, if I didn't remove the line breaks on the ASUS firmware it would insert garbage characters like...

There's a serious problem with 378.55 and OpenVPN.

Okay got it, thanks fellows. Now I want to address the other issue, does the Merlin firmware not support 2048-bit keys for DH? The reason I am using Merlin firmware is because the up to date official ASUS firmware was not accepting the DH key I was generating saying there was a formatting issue...

There's a serious problem with 378.55 and OpenVPN.

I can see the output because the reset commands either via hardware or software(factory reset through GUI or power cycling) are getting skipped because it's trying to interact with the vpnserver1 but it isn't.
