    HomePlug AV500 Adapter Roundup

I believe for Powerline Av there was only two mass market chipset vendors one was Intellon, which was acquired by Atheros, which was later acquired by Qualcomm. The other was Gigle Networks which was acquired by Broadcom. Broadcom just announced last month BCM60321 powerline av 1.1 200mbps...

    HomePlug AV500 Adapter Roundup

Very strange, why the NETGEAR XAVB5001 tested so poorly in the AV 500 roundup, especially since there was no firmware update since the original review. Did you receive a different set of adapters? or did some other variable change in your testing, because in the orignal NETGEAR XAVB5001...

    Senao - EnGenius ESR-9855G

I had a feeling it was an atheros chip, since i have never seen ubicom matched up with anything other then atheros

    D-Link Touch DIR-865 (802.11n + 400mbps)

I vote this as vaporware. It's strange though, that D-link has not released a high end (non-nas) router since DIR-825, almost two years!!! (DIR-685 doesnt count in my book since its a nas)

    Senao - EnGenius ESR-9855G

i can wait if I know Tim is planning a review soon, but if I hear anything good from somewhere else first, I will take a shot. It is a little expensive for a non dual-band router, and I was hoping my next purchase would be dual band. To have all my video streaming on 5ghz and my torrent...

    Senao - EnGenius ESR-9855G

its available at J&R, buy.com, beachaudio as of tonight

    Senao - EnGenius ESR-9855G

So no new info on the wireless chip? I am still happy about the ubicom part. Just so everybody knows, you cannot compare mhz ratings from ubicom chips to other companies, their chips are highly tuned for routing.

How does the newer Linksys WRT610N v2 (also known as E3000) compare to the WNDR3700?

it looks like tim just tested the E3000 and its been added to the charts. And its wireless performance, lan to wan, and wan to lan isnt as great as the Netgear WNDR3700, but it can handle more connections. I would stick with the netgear until something better comes out.

    Senao - EnGenius ESR-9855G

maybe you are limited by your connection, because my DIR-655 A2 1.11 easily maxes my connection with torrent with 4.35MB/s up and down simultaneously for a total of 8.7MB/s of throughput. My only issue is that while my upload ratchets up to that number super quickly, the download will take...

    Senao - EnGenius ESR-9855G

I am not really worrying that much about wan to lan, there are no major consumer isp's offering 600-700mbps anyways. I think less than 1% of consumers will care about HNE. More concurrent sessions, maximum wireless throughput and range and smarter qos have much more importance imho.

    Senao - EnGenius ESR-9855G

cool, thanks for explaining that to me, im not even sure if qos applies to me, I have a 35/35 connection from fios, and I just want a router that can handle more connections for torrents. The only other thing I do on my network is stream 1080p mkv's using ps3mediaserver over wireless n from...

    Senao - EnGenius ESR-9855G

Im not sure what you mean by hardware nat engine (isn't this a variable based on the performance of the cpu?) Cause the three year old ubicom ip5160 clocked at 275mhz handled more connections than the ESR9850, so I have little doubt that the new ubicom ip7k clocked at 500mhz will not hit the...

    Senao - EnGenius ESR-9855G

Wow, this should be the mother of all routers, and it will be my next purchase, this Atheros AR9223 is the same wireless chip as the DIR-825 B1 and Netgear WNDR3700, but it will have the new Ubicom ip7k 500mhz chip. I cannot wait till this gets reviewed. This is the combo I have been waiting...

    D-Link Touch DIR-865 (802.11n + 400mbps)

ftp://ftp.dlink.pl/dir/dir-865/documentation/DIR-865_ds_revA_01_all_en_20100126.pdf this is the link to the pdf, but i think it is vaporware as of now, since it was originally announced on jan 2009. And it is a 3 stream router so it will be 450 Mbps

    Dir-655 b1

yeah, I used the instructions from dslreports.com/forum/dlink for both of my d-link routers

    Dir-655 b1

where is rev b1 with the ip7150 processor? ubicom is the only processor that can handle my load. DIR-655 A2 with firmware 1.11 is running great DGL-4500 A1 with firmware 1.15 is running great but I want something new, I have had these running for over two years now!!! the only hiccup I ever...

    Matrix21 max connection tool

I would love to know if someone could run this tool on the supplied verizon fios routers such as the actiontec MI424WR-GEN2 (which is rev E. and later) I am want to see if its worth just using it as a bridge and attaching it to my DIR-655 if it doesnt have enough connections.
