    Share possible DNS-Rebind logs

Plex uses dns-rebind too. possibly useful reference. https://support.plex.tv/articles/206225077-how-to-use-secure-server-connections/ rebind-domain-ok=/plex.direct/ I couldn't find any advanced settings box, I'm assuming that was removed at some point? Further assuming this must be manually...

RT-AC86U - Enable efficient multicast forwarding (IGMP Snooping)

So there is, or is not, a solution or workaround that will get chromecast/airplay working between lan and wireless ?

RT-AC86U - Enable efficient multicast forwarding (IGMP Snooping)

Would issues involving unable to see chromecast and airplay devices over wifi be related to this? I can see my chromecasts and airplays when accessing from separate AP's (different SSID's), but when accessing via ac86 wifi, they do not show up.

    Firmware stuck on 384.5_beta2

This whole situation is unfortunate. :( All this does is weaken the security of the internet by making routers difficult, if not impossible, to keep up to date.

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.5 is now available

Just want to follow up, I was able to get my 68 updated to 384.5 release, thanks for the comments and info. I also ordered a new ac86u so that will become the primary router and I will likely end up using the 68 and 66 for various AP duties.

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.5 is now available

hmmm. ok. thanks for the clarification. While I did read the sticky about non-asus devices, I did not notice anything there that states modified carrier branded devices are taboo. They do after all have asus all over them. In any case, thanks for the heads up, I'll let it alone.

    asuswrt-merlin supported routers rankings?

Is there a list or chart of how the different asus/merlin routers stack up to each other, for like ram/processing/wifi capabilities, features, limitations, etc ? Is the 'best' simply the highest/newest/most expensive model number? Is there a 'best bang for buck' model, that is relatively...

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.5 is now available

thanks for the suggestions, no usb drive or other devices. I found a separate thread appears to be same issue specific to the ac68. https://www.snbforums.com/threads/after-upgrade-to-384-5beta2-cant-downgrade-or-change-firmware.46494/

don't worry you are not the only one, I have done that myself in the past.

    Stuck On Beta 2

did you use the AC68 as per the readme, or did you use AC86 as per your original post ?

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.5 is now available

Hello, I am starting to suspect I have bad hardware; its an amazon refurb tmo ac68. I tried to update from 384-5 beta2 to 384-5 final and every time (4+ attempts) the update does not update, and I get a factory default, with no apparent errors. Every time the router comes back up, it is still...

QNAP Releases Two 10GbE Unmanaged Switches For Small Business

I don't understand why these manufacturers keep releasing somewhat inexpensive unmanaged 10gbe switches with SFP ports, when what I would expect most SMB/prosumers want is as many straight rj45 ports at the lowest price, ideally with LACP support. The Buffalo BS-MP2008 is a near perfect...

    10gbe switch reviews?

any change of a review, comparison or article about 10gbe switches? past/current/future/etc some examples I personally would like to see more info about; TP-Link T1700X-16TS Buffalo BS-MP2008 the various Netgear 10gbe switches. and any other worthwhile existing or upcoming switches someone...

unable to access admin page over ipv6

Not sure if this is a known issue or whatever; - unable to access router admin via it's own local lan ipv6 address ipv6 tunnel has been up and stable since I resolved my initial dsl modem issues (required full bridge mode and pptp on router). on a whim I tried to access the router web admin...

    IPv6 tunnel instability with 378.51 on RT-N66U

I think I also had this tunnel instability issue, I've disabled the CTF (it's on Lan > switch control if you are looking for it), turned the ip6 firewall back on and will monitor tunnel to see if continues to go down. I'm on 380.57 merlin.

separate default gateways for ip4 vs ip6

after much hair pulling, removing my multi-wan, and factory defaulting asus-wrt, I figured out that my old dsl modem wasn't passing proto-41. I had been running pppoe on the modem, with the modem passing the public ip for 10+ years, but eventually determined that the 'pseudo bridge mode' was...

    possible bug > ipv6 firewall

during my experimentations with trying to get tunnelbroker ipv6 working, I encountered a strange issue where I had been able to ping ip6 from PC to my asuswrt. Then at some point my ip6 ping stopped working and I could no longer ping ip6 to or from the router. After much further...

separate default gateways for ip4 vs ip6

I have 2 routers, the main internet router is on .1, it does NAT and multiwan. It does not do WIFI, DHCP or IPv6. my asuswrt-merlin (380.57) is on .2 and does the DHCP and wifi access. The WAN port is not used. I was able to add a static default route (0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 > 192.x.x.1) which lets...

NAS devices which are able to offer 2-way realtime folder sync?

The biggest issue with bi-directional sync is conflict resolution. What happens when someone opens the same document at multiple locations, each make different changes and save at different times. Whoever saves last wins.
