AiMesh not working anymore on 2 latest Merlin firmwares

Hello everyone! I knew that with word "Merlin" sometimes miracles happening :)))) I am a big fan of Eric's FW for a lot of years. Owning AC68U, AC86U and two weeks ago bought AX86U. All 3 were running 386.3_2 FW, after arriving of new AX86U new AiMesh was created and for 2 weeks were working...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.58 is now available

Yesterday had updated my AC68U A1 to 380.58 from 380.56_2. Just simple flashing on top of previous version, no factory resets, nothing. Working perfectly so far. (router is used for routing ONLY, no USB devices. Before upgrading firmware all cables were unplugged from device.) Thank you Merlin!

    Merlin 380.57 Potential Memory Issue

Not correct comparison with a car. If we are talking about routers (cars) - my old Asus RT N56U with FW from Padavan was never increasing RAM usage running 24x7. And if we are talking about Linux based systems - my Qnap TS-251 has also Linux based operation system, and it is not increasing...

    Overclocking on Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56_2 (RT-AC68U and RT-N66U)

Then congratulations! You have CPU same as on AC87U and AC68P (BCM4709) ! That's why you had 1 GHz as standard.

    Overclocking on Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56_2 (RT-AC68U and RT-N66U)

So did anyone with new 1GHz AC68U tried to check boardtype as ASAT recommended? Did anyone got 0x0665? Or same 0x0646?

    Overclocking on Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56_2 (RT-AC68U and RT-N66U)

ASAT, and how this will help to find out why AC68U is 1Ghz in stock? Figures of boardtype means what?

    Overclocking on Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56_2 (RT-AC68U and RT-N66U)

New revision of 68U got BCM4709? Or they are overclocking 4708 to 1Ghz?

    Overclocking on Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56_2 (RT-AC68U and RT-N66U)

Maybe my question is strange, but still will ask mr.Merlin: How complicated is to incorporate overclocking script to Merlin firmware in Administration menu, like drop-down menu with 1-2 possible (and limited) values? Something like "Overclocking - Yes. Values - 1000,666 or 1200,666" I think it...

    $9 Router Cooling (RT-AC68U Example)

To be honest, i don't care. :) this Asus was running flawlessly even with 85 deg CPU. Important how it is performing, not how warm or cold it is. :D Agree that some Asus hardware developers should be fired after such device design, but that's not our desicion. If Asus is still happy with them...

    $9 Router Cooling (RT-AC68U Example)

just made fast test - i have small 60mm fan from Noctua for PC cases (didn't fit into my old Qnap before), so i made simple usb-connected fan. Same bungeed to back of router gave me in 3 minutes drop down of CPU temperature from 85 to 76 deg C. :)

    $9 Router Cooling (RT-AC68U Example)

you are right! But I am now considering which size i need to buy. Maybe 80 mm fit better? Or one 140 mm? that's why asking about picture - to understand real dimensions comparably to router body.

    $9 Router Cooling (RT-AC68U Example)

ASAT thanks for your comment! May I ask you to make a picture how it looks like? I thought that 2 x 120 mm are too big for AC68U back? No? I found them accidentally and found them exactly what i need for cooling space around stereo and mediaplayer, and now i have nothing against to put one more...

    $9 Router Cooling (RT-AC68U Example)

Interesting discussion. To cool down or not to cool down. Did anyone experienced burning out of AC68U working constantly with 85-90 deg C CPU temperature? I'm just curious. :) And by the way - found quite interesting fans from AC Infinity (http://www.acinfinity.com/quiet-usb-fans/) did anyone...

    Overclocking on Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56_2 (RT-AC68U and RT-N66U)

Thats fine. I'm 36 years old, so perfectly remember even 5" floppy discs. But question is about router - if i have now connection router-client on 5Hz n only with 300 Mbt, and download speed is around 140-150 Mbt. (you can say about any other connections like that) - how 1200 GHz speed of cpu...

    Overclocking on Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56_2 (RT-AC68U and RT-N66U)

What exactly you are getting benefitial after overclocking cpu from 800 to 1000-1200 except these nice numbers? Where it works faster? Not using usb clients you will never see this, am i correct or wrong?

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56_2 is now available

When i was asking same question i told that after 8 days it was still increasing RAM usage. From 19 to 35% in 8 days of uplink. Decreasing back to 18-19% only after reboot.
