Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 DST Router (R7300)

Thanks, bobsilver, for the information. I'm not quite ready for an adventure yet but it's good to know I have one waiting for me when I'm ready! pete y testing: The funny thing about your comment is that the only reason I decided to pick up the Best Buy offer was because it was at a nice 'open...

Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 DST Router (R7300)

Has anybody (else) gotten this router? I just picked up an open-box special off the Best Buy site. I've been using an Asus AC66u for a couple of years and started to get restless. I have had a dead spot in my kitchen that seems to be filled now with the included DST adapter. I've been...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.354.28 Beta 1

FWIW, I took some screen shots of the browser interface to make sure I didn't miss any important info.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.354.28 Beta 1

Just a quick report that I've been running 354.28 for a couple of days w/o issue. I had tried 354.27 but didn't clear the NVRAM and I had 5ghz slowdowns. I cleared NVRAM before and after the upgrade and all has been well. Also, as noted earlier in this thread, I do seem to get faster...

    ASUS RT-AC66U 3.0.0.4.354 Official Firmware

Thanks, I thought he just mentioned the RT-N66U as having the problem and others have reported that clearing the nvram worked to solve the issue. I may just wait, as you suggest. Fact is, .270 has really been rock solid and pretty fast for me.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.354.27 Beta 1

I had trouble on 5 ghz again after using the .354 for about 5 days. My issue was extreme slowdowns after waking up from sleep. I'm planning to flash again and clear nvram this time. Can someone tell me whether it defeats the purpose to restore the settings from a backup after clearing nvram...

    ASUS RT-AC66U 3.0.0.4.354 Official Firmware

I just dropped back to .270 after having very slow speeds on 5ghz after waking up from sleep (using an Intel 6300). I've only had this problem with the .3XX betas. I'm intending to flash it again and this time clear nvram to see if that makes a difference.

Asus RT-AC66U: Manually Assigning IP addresses is flaky

I'm assigning 18 ip's and I've reduced available ip's of the DHCP server to 5.

Asus RT-AC66U: Manually Assigning IP addresses is flaky

That isn't how it's worked for me. I've always used the manual list to assign ip's outside the router's DHCP range and kept the available DHCP range very small. It has always seemed to work well that way for me. I'm not saying that's the way it's supposed to work - just what's worked for me.

    Upgrading laptops to wireless N

The intel 5300 is probably the easiest to use in linux - broadcom, not so much. I used one in my Vaio with only 2 antennas. When I got the new router, I added a short, 13 inch antenna that wasn't too difficult to install. But I've put 4965 in older systems for cheap n support and they don't...

    System Time Incorrect

When the time doesn't come up correctly after a reboot or power reset, I've just gone in to Administration>System and manually entered a different ntp server then hit apply. I think there's a minor timing glitch in that the router looks for an ntp server before the WAN connection is established.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.270.25 is out

Just reporting back: It took me a week to track down exactly what was going on with my connection and I'm now, finally reporting that I'm certain it had nothing to do with the firmware at all. The issue was definitely related to the "Thinkpad Access Connections" application that came with my 1...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.270.25 is out

My issues with 5GHz seem to have been resolved. When the problems surfaced, nothing but a complete reboot would solve the problem and only temporarily. I had installed a new HD and then upgraded the 6300 wireless drivers to Intel's 15.3.1 version. I had noticed that there was also some kind of...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.270.25 is out

I mentioned this in my previous post but I've since started to wonder if there's not something going on with my (Intel) wireless driver. After reflashing the router to .24, I had another issue with low connectivity speeds - only at 5ghz. I've dropped my Intel wireless card driver all the way...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.270.25 is out

If it seems like I'm being contrary, I don't really mean to be. . . :o I've been using this router (rt-AC66u) for 4 or 5 months. I believe that the first version of the firmware that I loaded was 304.260 and then I began using the Asuswrt-Merlin releases. I've read about folks having issues...

    3G/4G USB for this router

I got a cheap little Huawei 353 usb stick off of Ebay and used the AT&T sim from my Tablet in order to give this feature a try. It was pretty simple and quick to set up, as I recall.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.264.22 is out

I've come back to this build (from the ASUS .266) since I ended up having the same issue trying to do a backup operation from my W2003 server to a USB drive connected to the router - the drive became inaccessible and the UI became unreachable. I haven't had any time to try and troubleshoot...

    New Asus fw .266

Nothing scientific, just 28 hours and no complaints. Snappy UI, no disconnects, USB drives remaining connected.
