[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Looks like you are the first user to use the AppDB area. I’ll look into what is happening and fix it. Both fields are intended to work the same. (From my pre-release testing, it did work. Gotta find the coding gremlins ) @Vexira, my script appends itself to the end of firewall-start start...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Consolidate your rules 2&3 into a larger continuous range. You’ll have room for a forth rule. Or simply put the iTunes mark in the AppDB section and redirect it there.
  3. FreshJR

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Click on itunes name in the tracked connection table. Remember or write down its mark. Create a rule using that mark. Almost, see the above instructions on how to find out the mark corresponding to HTTPS traffic. The HTTPS into “GameTransferring” rule would really only work for a game...
  4. FreshJR

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

It’s going to WebSurfing since it’s a HTTPS game download and DPI doesn’t know what it is. Simply make a rule that says if {GameConsole} && HTTPS —> GameTransfering @Vexira isolate the device and check the connections table / pie charts.

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Still alive && not abandoned. Unfortunately progress is only being made when I get free time which is the cause for the delay. I do want to finish up as soon as I can. See above. Planned feature of next release. This request is opposite of everyone else. The release will offer a...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

That’s the first rule under AppDB Untracked -> Others. It’s a rule present since v1.0 of the script. That behavior is intended.
  7. FreshJR

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

That UI behavior is intended. The contrast readability appears fine on my drives. The washed out / “greyed” means those field are not available for user modication/configuration. Those fields are hardcoded. They are just shown show the user had a sense of what is happening behind the scenes...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

There’s a built in check once every 24hrs to see if the script has to reactivate it’s modifications. Your current debug output has modifications NOT enabled, but the daily check should catch the inactive status and fix it. An inactive status rarely happens so it’s not a big cause of worry.
  9. FreshJR

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

@fearz could be pre-existing connection bug. We will continue debugging after next script release. If anything, -turn off all devices -turn off router -turn on router -wait 5 min -turn on all devices this should rule out pre-existing connection bug/glitch, (this bug is worked around next...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Do you have ipv6 enabled?? Your behavior shouldn’t be the case. Which category are office updates + game downloads place in (as seen by the pie charts)

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

With that all traffic from .38 should be going to streaming. If that’s not enough, put .38 traffic into net control. (Net control will work better than assigning device priority, if you are wanting to assign .38 ultimate network priority)
  12. FreshJR

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

    1) Get the devices currently assigned IP or assign it a static IP via the router 2) create a QOS rule so traffic dealing with the assigned IP or statically defined IP goes —> Streaming or NetControl In the end you are creating a rule with only the localIP defined. (Local device means any...
  13. FreshJR

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

If it’s a single purpose device, eg FireTV, AppleTV, etc, just stick all its traffic into net control or whatever category you deem appropriate. To identity it via QOS you can create a rule for all its traffic via its localIP address (Personally I would stick it into VideoSteaming instead of...

Anyone have a script for monitoring cpu usuge?

I just logged in and saw 1 core being maxed. Some rouge process has glitched and I have no idea how long it was pegged use a full cpu core. A script issuing a process kill, router reboot, or even email notification would be nice. Does anything like that exist or does it have to be created.

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Not sure if the windows p2p feature works, but on an android tablet I had a torrent client background instead of closing and it ran until I got a letter from the ISP about seeding content before I noticed that the client was seeding FULL SPEED for a few months. During those months, I noticed...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Oh wow, they now started to p2p the downloaded updates outside the local network. No don’t disable the feature, just limit the distribution to within your LAN. With correct upload limits your network still shouldn’t hiccup even when p2p’ing the updates outside the local network. eg, you...
  17. FreshJR

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

I think you are misunderstanding the feature. The shared updates feature means that one device downloads the update via the network(isp connection) and it should then share/mirror the downloaded update via LAN(local network) to the other devices. Aka 1 device downloads a 4gb patch, and then...

Can a device on the guest wifi see the router's SMB share?

I would hope it’s isolated from the SMB share if you have the guest network isolated. Test and find out.
  19. FreshJR

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Windows updates should go into file downloads. Where are yours going? If it’s HTTPS->(web surfing) then maybe make a rule for your ISP CDN servers. If that doesn’t work, revert to old school methods of scheduling updates during an idle network time frame. There’s a solution for most issues...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

@Swistheater Why would you want to move it up. Let’s say you have a 20mbps connection and video streaming has 30% reserved = 6mbps alloted Which means (0.3) 4K streams , (1.5) 1080p streams, or (3) 720p streams are guaranteed. But since web surfing is bursty traffic and video streaming is...
