    AX88U-Pro, Jumbo Frames?

Thanks! Fully aware of that... Been using ASUS / Merlin on more than 5 generations of ASUS routers. The new AX88U-Pro is working flawlessly without resetting to defaults after flashing Merlin to an otherwise unconfigured device and configuring Merlin from scratch. I was just curious about the...

    AX88U-Pro, Jumbo Frames?

Perhaps. I just based it off looking at the real-time ethernet port throughput as measured by my NAS when backups were running across the net. I just saw a higher throughput with the 9K frames. My NAS is > 5 years old and that might be a factor. The NAS CPU is a i5-3470S - which arguably is...

    AX88U-Pro, Jumbo Frames?

Thats what I suspected. Thanks for confirming. Couldn't find any technical details on the 88U-Pro to confirm, though. As I mentioned, I moved all devices with Jumbo Frames enabled to a separate switch with Jumbo Frame support. Apparently they have no issue communicating from the separate switch...

    AX88U-Pro, Jumbo Frames?

Understood. I've been using 9K jumbo frames on my PCs and NAS devices for years to improve backup times. I use the NAS for automated backup storage, and Jumbo Frames measurably improved backup times. Never had a single issue until I connected one of the PC's to an ethernet port on the...

    AX88U-Pro, Jumbo Frames?

Hmm. I did not do a factory reset after Merlin flash. Since the AX88U-Pro was brand new "out of the box" and never configured when I flashed to Merlin, I didn't see the need to factory reset. Guess I'll try it unless someone else confirms Jumbo Frames are not an option on the AX88U-Pro. I did...

    AX88U-Pro, Jumbo Frames?

Didn't find a thread that discusses Jumbo Frames on the AX88U-Pro. I upgraded to the AX88U-Pro from the AX86U which explicitly allows the selection of jumbo frames in the firmware. The AX88U-Pro Merlin firmware doesn't have the settings to enable/disable jumbo frames. Does anyone know if this...

    Replacement for my RTAC86U

FYI - I upgraded my AX86U to the AX88U-Pro and now use the AX86U as a mesh device. I too was offered 1 Gb from my ISP and took it. As primary router, the AX88U-Pro gives me 944 Mbit / 40.4 Mbit consistently on speed tests without VPN (But all AI protections are enabled). So it should give you...

Could somebody explain which of these three ASUS routers is "better", please?

I did the same when the AX86U was first released and am running Merlin on it. Very happy. Its been rock solid and performs great. I have Cox cable/internet with 500 Mbit/10 Mbit (down / up). While the upload speed sucks, I don't need Gigabit speed/price to get the higher uplink speed. The AX86U...

    [Dev] Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 development

Wow! Never ceases to amaze me just how much work it takes and the dedication you have for maintaining this project. The Merlin user community certainly appreciates it. Thank you so much for your status update. Take care and stay safe. Regards, Jims S.

Asuswrt-Merlin is now 10 years old!

Congratulations, and more importantly - Thanks for all you've done these past 10 years. I jumped on the bandwagon with my N66U way back when, and used Merlin firmware on every ASUS router I've owned since - AC86U and AX86U most recently. It has truly made my online life much more secure and...

    Newbie to ASUS and Networking

Factory reset return all settings to their "default" settings out of the box. So you will have to do a full setup as if the router was new. So be sure to screen-capture or jot down all your customized settings.

getting this message every 5 seconds in my log. Please help

Yeah, I suspect its not Guest Network related. However, after rebooting my AIMesh routers, the message no longer appears for some reason.

ASUS Merlin 386.2_4 AiMesh not handling Guest Network properly

Indeed. I discovered that after setting up Guest Network 2 (and verifying that it worked), I went merrily about my way. For other reasons, I later rebooted the AX86U / Mesh network and the Guest 2 SSID disappeared (no longer visible to client devices). I went back to the Router GUI and found...
