    Limiting bandwidth via wifi

Guys, Thanks for the reply backs and I'm going to buy one of those OpenMesh routers and see how well it works. These are going to be used for like a bus and I won't be managing them after it's configure. I'm going to connect the 4G LTE card to a MOFI35003GN router, disable the wireless and...

    Limiting bandwidth via wifi

I was wondering, do you guys happen to know any Wifi router that will allow me to limit bandwidth per wireless client? I have a 4G connection that I want to sure via USB but want to be able to limit each wireless user to possibly around 1.5Mbits, so that the other wireless users can get some...

Thanks, I'll look into that one. I might get one and try it out!

    Recommendation for dual wan router

I was wondering if you guys can recommend a stable router that has a dual wan functionality. I need one that can automatically switch and/or load balance a cable and DSL connection. Our current ISP has been having issues and we are ordering a second DSL line for a backup, since our credit card...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

Has anyone used this to setup OpenVPN with dial-in users? I had to set this up using TUN instead of TAP. If I used TAP, it wouldn't connect using a Windows 7 client. I tried to set the VPN with the same subnet as my local LAN but on a different DHCP block (ie. 192.168.1.200 ~ 192.168.1.210)...

Recommendation for 802.11a 5.8GHz Access Point

Would if be ok if I bought a separate third antenna? I looked up the specs and I saw the additional antenna, so I bought this one...

Recommendation for 802.11a 5.8GHz Access Point

Yeah, we did that over there. The wired pcs don't have the lag, so we're suspecting the wifi is the problem, that's why I wanted to switch it to a less crowded spectrum, to see if it would help. Thanks for the suggestion.

Recommendation for 802.11a 5.8GHz Access Point

I'll give the RT-N56U a try. I strictly want to use it to test to see if it will help with the lag in the application I'm using at the office. It seems to respond pretty slow and windows take a while to refresh. It could be our internet, wifi or the server that were connected to. For $100...

Recommendation for 802.11a 5.8GHz Access Point

Thanks for the suggestion. I guess I'll just buy a different wifi card. I totally forgot about that one. I'll just get the Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 Pci card. I was thinking of just getting an Asus RT-N56U router. The router is strictly going to be used an access point, do you think it...

Recommendation for 802.11a 5.8GHz Access Point

I was wondering what you guys would recommend in terms of a 802.11a wireless access point/router? It's going to be used for a small office with 5 laptops connected to it. Currently, they have a Sonicwall firewall with the built-in wireless but it's only running at the 2.4GHz frequency. There...

Recommendation for NAS w/ FTP auto deletion

Thanks for the input. I already have a NVR that consolidates all my IP video streams, so I don't really need one that does IP recording but it does bring a good point. I might be able to pull another copy of the the secondary stream and record directly into the NAS as well, making a duplicate...

Recommendation for NAS w/ FTP auto deletion

I read through the starters guide on how to buy a NAS but I have a special request. I'm looking for a NAS that I can setup to auto delete files after a certain age. The reason why I want this is because I'm setting the NAS as a backup source for my NVR IP camera system. The NVR can auto...

Have you deployed the UniFi Aps? If so, how do you like them? I'm thinking about getting some to try out and deploy for my house.

Wireless Antenna between two buildings (small business)

How will it work if the distance is 1.5 miles, it's more than 1/2 a mile and what type of bandwidth will I get in a real world scenario with the Engenius setup?

Wireless Antenna between two buildings (small business)

Thanks for the suggestion. Do you have any recommendations in terms of which would be good for 900MHz antennas?

Wireless Antenna between two buildings (small business)

I have two buildings, in which I need to connect to each other. I've been trying to figure out what would be the best method to approach this. The two buildings are around 1.45miles from each other (taken from the longitude/latitude) on google, straight pathway. I was wondering if you guys can...

    Extending LAN with Wireless Antennas

I have a question in regards on how to extend a network that I have. Currently, I have an office that wants to extend it's network across the street to another building. The distance is about 100feet from each other and I want to use some antennas mounted on the roof, pointed at each other, to...
