    MoCA 2.0 Actiontech ECB6000

With the inactivity in this thread lately, should I assume that no news is good news? Seems that the latest firmware had resolved most people's problems with the ECB6200s. I had been holding off my purchase previously because of the problems reported here. Perhaps it's time for me to...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.44 is out

I assume when you say recent beta, you were referring to the .44 betas? If we are upgrading from the .43 release, is a factory reset still needed?

    EA-N66 Wireless Ethernet Adapter

Is the LAN transfer speeds between Windows machines mentioned earlier in the thread resolved yet? I'm shopping now for a wireless bridge and have the RT-N66u, so my natural fist pick is the EA-N66, but if there are still problems, maybe I'll get the Trendnet TEW-680MB instead.

    FTP only on lan

Just installed Merlin on my RT-N66U as well and came across this question. Searched the forum and found this post that remains unanswered. Anyone knows how?

Ethernet from your TV Outlet: NETGEAR MoCA Coax-Ethernet Adapter Kit Reviewed

Looks like there is a new MCA1001v2 that popped up on Netgear's support pages. Not sure what the difference is aside from exterior... http://support.netgear.com/app/products/model/a_id/20082

Homeplug AV2, should we expect real improvement ?

As stevech suggested, go MoCA if you have cable outlets in the rooms in question. I was in the same situation as you (multi-level townhouse vs a condo), got a Netgear MoCA kit, never looked back. Check Tim's review and bandwidth test results at...

Cisco Linksys E4200 Maximum Performance Wireless-N Router Reviewed

Came across it and didn't see it mentioned yet. New official firmware released for the E4200V1 which fixes the WPS issue. http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/routers/E4200 Release Notes: Of course, those running Tomato/DD-WRT probably don't care ;)

Why 802.11ac Will Kill The 5 GHz Wi-Fi Band

I thought seeing 30-40 was bad. 87!!! That's a good point. I'll have to wait & see what it's like when people start getting these devices in our townhouse complex...

Why 802.11ac Will Kill The 5 GHz Wi-Fi Band

Reference: http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/wireless/wireless-features/31694-why-80211ac-will-kill-the-5-ghz-wi-fi-band/ That was an interesting piece. Thanks Tim. "The gist of all this is that 802.11ac, even in the first draft devices appearing this year, can reduce the effective number...

    ASUS RT-N66U - my review

Don't forget the first PS3's that sold for more than a few times their retail price on eBay when they first came out. Those were classic.

Ethernet from your TV Outlet: NETGEAR MoCA Coax-Ethernet Adapter Kit Reviewed

I think I've answered my own question here. Checking Netgear's site, it does not list the Moca adapters anymore: http://www.netgear.com/home/products/powerline-and-coax/ I assume then they're discontinuing the product. :(

Router for Wireless Bridge with Asus RT-N66U?

Are you looking to have a wireless bridge at the 2.4Ghz band or 5ghz band? 150Mbps good enough? 300Mbps or 450Mbps? Price range? These will limit your choices. Not sure if it's true, but another user told me before it's best to stick to the same chipset or at least chipset manufacturer for...

    Zyxel PLA4205: disappointed

Same deal with the wireless advertised speeds. 300Mbps? 450Mbps? 54Mbps for 802.11g even. Nobody ever actually gets those theoretical max speeds. Yes, the O/S may report having a connection at those speeds to make you happy, but actual transfer rates are only a fraction of that, as all of...

Anyone able to confirm these? I really want to know before I make a purchase decision. Thanks!

    ASUS RT-N66U - my review

Hey guys, the good reviews are really tempting me to pick this one up. :) Just a couple questions though: 1. Has Asus made available a bridge mode (non-WDS) on the RT-N66U? I believe it wasn't available on the N56U? 2. Is Cisco VPN now compatible with N66U without needing to disable...

Ethernet from your TV Outlet: NETGEAR MoCA Coax-Ethernet Adapter Kit Reviewed

Is this kit being discontinued by Netgear? It seems many online stores have them sold out and deactivated (i.e. not to be restocked again). I'm considering getting a kit to give it a try vs Powerline. My Powerline speeds are very unstable, going from 20Mbps to sometimes 50Mbps on a good day...

Off-topic posts from ASUS RT-N66U thread

I clicked in this thread to see what "Off-topic posts from ASUS RT-N66U thread" is about, and I see this PC vs Mac argument. Classic. Keep arguing for one side and people end up sounding like fanboys. There are pros and cons to each. If there was an absolute winner, the discussion wouldn't...

    ASUS RT-N66U - my review

Sucks to hear the English GUI has a bunch of Javascript errors. Maybe that's why the router is still not released yet over here in North America. Hope Asus fixes the problem shortly! Any comments on the USB storage performance yet? I know Guz asked about this earlier but Geraner hasn't tried...

    ASUS RT-N66U - my review

Nice, didn't know it's been released already in some markets. Don't even see the product on Asus' global site yet.
