    Just FYI I think I found a resolution to this issue, this only started on the 388 version firmware but anyone having an issue keeping a usb modem online may want to try this. I set the MTU to 1428 and also set the extend TTL value for the modem to yes.

    Lost a cable modem, some zwave lights, a poe cam, 2.5g wan, and port 1 on my ax86u a few months ago in our Florida lightning storms.. I never needed the 2.5g but now I have 3g fiber and can't utilize, hoping to find a axe16000 on sale soon.

    Has anyone else reported openvpn issues? I had the same issues after the last time I tried to upgrade past 388 beta 3. I can connect fine to openvpn server but I don't get any packets or traffic to Lan or wan from the client... As soon as I downgrade back to 388b3 my openvpn passes traffic...

    Asus Router App over VPN

    I found this same issue with the latest firmware, I regularly use the app/web gui remotely on openvpn and since 388.2 it has quit, I just rolled back to 388.1b3 and its back working perfectly.

    Dang, I already had compression disabled, changed the HMAC to sha1 from auto and no change. Did you by chance upgrade to the latest 388.2_2 realease? I'm about to give that a try.
