    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

Gocoax adapters continue working until step 9 when i rebooted them. At that point, the whole home pvr became active and the gocoax adapters wouldn't work again until I disconnected the nextboxes. @gocoax hoping you can jump in to provide insight and direction. Thanks.

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

Based on the advice of @Datalink (another forum), I decided to do one more set of tests. This time, I moved both gocoax adapters and the nextbox devices to the same room to ensure an in-wall splitter (which may or may not exist without my knowledge) may be causing the issue. When the Nextbox...

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

I finally had a chance to continue testing today and tried to go step by step to see where things go wrong. From what I can gather, it appears that the Gocoax and Whole Home PVR cannot work together. Hoping someone can offer some advice as I'd really like to keep my whole home pvr...

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

I assumed I only needed one-way from basement to 2nd floor where my wifi access point will be ceiling mounted.

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

Option 2 did't work for me. I ended up ordering a 5 port moca amplifier splitter (https://www.ppc-online.com/5-and-9-port-active-return-moca-enabled-coax-amplifier-splitter) in hopes that it may help. Just waiting on it to be delivered and will post back my results thereafter.

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

@Booboo22 - I am doing my best to follow the advise and posted step by step tests so that I don't go to far before getting feedback on changes I'm seeing. Each night when I'm done testing, I have to restore back to ensure the TV is working properly upstairs. As I mentioned in my first post...

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

Should I keep D-Low and D-High checked as well? ... or just D-Ext? Also, should LOF stay at 1400 or change to a different value?

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

I don't think there are any devices working between 1125-1675MHz. Prior to receiving the gocoax adapters, I only had a 5-1005MHz splitter and the Whole Home PVR (MoCA 1.0/1.1) was working correctly. I have since purchased replaced with the splitters shown in the diagram below.

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

LOF is now set to 1400 with only D-High band checked for both adapters. Nextbox Whole Home PVR is now working, but stability has started decreasing as I noticed a few disconnects. I'm starting to see RX Bad/Dropped #s above zero whereas when I had LOF = 1150 and all Bands checked it very...

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

My power went out for a minute this morning so both adapters power cycled at the same time. To my surprise, they both stated working when they came back online. Both adapters have all 3 bands checked and are fully connected to all planned splitters. PHY Rates are strong as per below. Should...

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

I have not seen any other wallplates in the house and, to the best of my knowledge, it's just the 4 drops. That said, I clued into the fact today the the color cable in the basement is different than the color cable in both the main floor and second floor which is why I suspect splitter(s) in...

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

No splitters are being used currently.. still connecting the adapters directly. Edit: unless there's a splitter in the wall which I'm not aware of... which may likely be the case Edit 2: I am now fairly certain that there are splitters in the wall. Now I have to figure out if it's possible to...

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

Update: I went back to stock settings with no security enabled and connected the adapters directly (using coax from basement to second floor). Everything worked perfectly with expected PHY Rates. I then updated both adapters to D-High only and PHY dropper to ~700. Is this expected? I'll...

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

What LOF do you recommend for D-High band? For security settings, should I also use D-High or stick to D-Ext? Isn't that what I did in Test 1-3 (MoCA adapters connected directly) and then Test 4 (2 way splitter added on second floor only)? Test 4 is when the adapters wouldn't reconnect and...

Just following up to see if anyone has any advice or guidance to share about my posted results. Thanks

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

Test 4: basement MoCA port -> second floor 2-way splitter -> second floor adapter MoCA port (All bands enabled on basement adapter, D-High only on second floor adapter) After Test 3, I decided to introduce a splitter in the second floor only. I wasn't able to re-establish a connection. I then...

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

Test 3: Adapters connected via basement -> second floor coax run using MoCA ports on both adapters (All bands enabled on basement adapter, D-High only on second floor adapter) I decided to go back to all bands for the basement adapter to see if it would connect... and it did. MoCA Settings...

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

I have completed a few preliminary tests and wanted to share these early results before going deeper. After connecting the adapters MoCA ports directly using the coax run from the basement to the second floor (no splitters in use), I noticed that the PHY Rates were still low. I decided to test...

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

Given that I'd like to only use D-High band, what value should I set for LOF on both adapters? Should the NC be enabled for both devices or just one? For Security settings, do I need to enable? If so, is D-ext only required? Even though I'm using D-high band only in MoCA Settings, I found...

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

I managed to get my hands on a no-name 2-way 5-2500 MHz splitter and have replaced the previously installed Antronix 2-way splitter. Stability has yet to improve. I'll keep monitoring and report back if that changes. I also picked up a few 75 ohm terminator caps in case needed in the future...
