looking for a dependable router out of the box

this is gonna be long so I appreciate even skimming this and giving me some info. I have wasted a ton of time and gotten nowhere. my needs: I am in the process of setting up a smart home (so lots of wifi/ IOT devices (currently 40-50 but would like to get more depending on how this goes) want...
