    Need solid NTFS, DLNA, BitTorrent

So, I guess it's time for everyone following this thread, to start searching and reporting back possible systems. They just have to have dual gig NIC and preferably 802.11ac wireless, fanless preferable (they don't have to have the most powerful CPU, just enough to get the job done)

    Need solid NTFS, DLNA, BitTorrent

I was looking on Intel's website. I'm going to have to sit down and really research this out more :)

    Need solid NTFS, DLNA, BitTorrent

Can't find a current Intel NUC with dual NIC's. :( Using Windows as a router is actually easy, when I did it a LONG time ago. But back then I only had a noisy desktop and I really, REALLY like silence now. Actually the portable USB drive attached to my N65U is to loud. I had to configure it to...

    Need solid NTFS, DLNA, BitTorrent

You missed one point, I tend to take the drives off and go "off site" with them (portable external drives). A NAS box wouldn't work very well.

    Need solid NTFS, DLNA, BitTorrent

Ok, it's been too many years on my current RT-N65U router. I think it's time to upgrade. The things I need are: Support NTFS formatted USB drives. In the terabyte range. USB3.0 DLNA for streaming to my TV (wireless) BitTorrent SMB network sharing IPv6 The NTFS support is number 1. It has to...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

From Padavan yesterday on the Russian Site: ALLThe project finally has healed here: https://bitbucket.org/padavan/rt-n56u Mirror lives here https://github.com/andy-padavan/rt-n56u Github faster clones + mirror will not interfere if suddenly one of the sites lies down. On GitHub is not...

    ASUS RT-N56U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.6065

Ok, I tried it. Went from Padavan's to this. It went cleanly, but I could NOT get the media server nor the download master to install. Actually I've never ever gotten the media server nor the download master to work with the Asus firmware. Which is why I've been using Padavan's ever since it...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

A simple question: Have you tried the "factory default" button, then resetting the admin password and seeing if things improve (keep as many defaults as possible)?

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

Again, I can't remember the name of the software you can run to analyze your Wi-Fi (someone help me here), but you might be surprised at what you might find using the various frequencies (intentional, and non-intentional). Even a lowly garage door opener might create interference. For...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

It sounds like frequency interference, and not the firmware itself. The reboot will initiate a rescan of the frequencies (2.5 and 5 GHz) and the router will find the cleanest channel at that time. You might have to get some software to run on your computer to scan all the channels to find the...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

You have found a consistent issue with the MiniDLNA software. What I have found is there is a hidden directory created by the software named '.dms'. Inside that directory is all the cache information about what is being served. The problem is the software will create nested directory names that...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

Just a heads up: 3.X.3.9-091 firmware is available.

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

I had the exact SAME issue. You know what fixed it? Clearing the browser cache.

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

First, set the router to Factory Default (Administration, Settings, Factory Default), reboot. Then unplug it after it comes back from the reboot (make sure it's fully rebooted and operational before you power it off). Then go to your modem and power it down, wait for a 10 count. Power it up...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

OK, if you REALLY want to have each client to have assigned specific DNS servers. Advanced settings LAN DNS and WINS server settings From there you can enter up to 3 DNS servers and 1 WINS server (depending on your firmware version). But in reality, you don't need to. As kalpik said...

Anyone know what Padavan is up to? We haven't had a firmware update in quite awhile now.

    Beta testers wanted (WP8)

I'm a WP8 user. Great phone OS!! I've got an RT-N65U, but I'm running Padavan's firmware. Would your app support it, or just the stock firmware?

Can't trust Asus or RMerlin firmware anymore!

You are correct. The NSA couldn't care less about our individual personal routers. They have equipment that sits on all the backbone routes around the world. Think "man in the middle" that watches all the traffic no matter what. It used be called "Prism", but I believe they have moved on to...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

I don't think it's done baking yet. I just installed 083 on my N65U this morning. One quick issue I've noticed is that the Client List isn't being populated. I'm still poking around to see if there are any other issues.
