No one can seem to answer this - 450mbps TOTAL throughput

The answer may be yes or it may be no. SmallNetBuilders has reviewed wired and wireless routing throughputs for the WNDR4500. I don't recall if throughputs were measured for multiple clients running at the same time with the WNDR4500, but this has been measured with the new draft 802.11ac like...

Wiresless router with fastest USB drive transfers?

See this article, page 3, File Sharing. Both the WD and the Cisco's seem to have fast NTFS for this class of wireless router. Read the articles for both to understand pluses and minuses before purchasing.

    wireless bridge, transmit power

Reminds of the amps that go to 11 in Spinal Tap. :D

Read the stickies, but still have a question on mixed mode and 40MHz

Thank you for the additional information. Do I have the following correct? An N rated wireless router will force G rated speeds on all clients if WEP security is chosen or WMM is turned off. Older Draft-N wireless routers did not operate in HT Mixed Mode and therefore slowed N rated...

    Wireless Routers supporting multicast?

Multicasting is briefly mentioned in the v1.3 October 2009 User Manual I just browsed on the internet. Multicasting is dealt with in the LAN Setup RIP Version setting. Get your User Manual.

Read the stickies, but still have a question on mixed mode and 40MHz

Please expand on this. Conventional user wisdom has been that two devices operating simultaneously in mixed mode, one device G-rated and the other N-rated, will operate at the G-rated 54 Mbps theoretical max until the G-rated device stops operations and then the N-rated device returns to full...

Antenna Configuration for 3x3 MIMO MiniPCIe Dual-Band NIC

I have a Dell Vostro 1400 that I installed an Intel 5300 in. There already were three antenna in the notebook, although only two were in use with the NIC adapter card that came with the notebook. I believe all three antenna terminated along the sides of the LED screen, though it was a while...

    MoCA vs HomePNA/HCA

I want to say it is great to see you participating on the forum. Most people with similar credentials as you would take th time to add your voice on a consumer driven forum. Thank you! Just wondering, how can anyone or entity "guarantee" throughputs given the enormous number of...

NETGEAR Antes Up With Its Draft 802.11ac Router

Isn't USB 3.0 already implemented on certain routers? There are currently more USB 3.0 devices than those capable of utilizing 1300 Mbps.

NETGEAR Antes Up With Its Draft 802.11ac Router

We already know it was a lame decision to stick with USB 2.0 ports.

MOCA 2.0 was ratified in June of 2010, where are the products?

A sticky problem is the public has been propagandized to believe WiFi is the be all, end all. Until perceptions are changed, MoCA will probably remain a boutique item. :(

MOCA 2.0 was ratified in June of 2010, where are the products?

I don't know about MoCA 2.0 but I just had a tasty Arby's Jamoca shake. :D Seriously, I agree. Where's the MoCA? Since MoCA doesn't play nice with some of the Satellite or other content providers equipment, maybe MoCA manufacturers gave up rather than suffer the cost of technical support...

    Router Advice

You certainly have a lot going on in the home. Can you diagram the home and where you will be using the internet/LAN from, what clients will be using the internet/LAN for each room diagrammed, as well as where the modem and router are at. Also, are there coaxial cable outlets in any/all of the...

    Netgear WNDR4000 Problems - Help?

There have been DHCP issues for some people with other model Netgear routers which hopefully have been resolved with a new firmware update with the 3800. Since your set up worked for 2 months and now does not could mean an issue with the router or your ISP. Does the problem occur if...

    Networking My Bunker

If there is coaxial cable installed then consider MoCA. It can have better performance than Powerline plugs and as easy to use. Make sure it is compatible your cable TV provider's equipment (if you have cable TV).

    High-gain antennae for this situation?

Thanks for the tip stevech. Tried "pngtrace" version 2.5 but didn't see a graphing option. Tested it only on my hardwired desktop but will try it on the notebook.
