Trying an EAP670 to (maybe) switch to omada to replace RT-AX86U

Yes it is in the same spot. I did notice a hardware vs firmware mismatch that I fixed yesterday. I am still experimenting with it. Speeds are good on 5Ghz when near it. It's mostly the range I'm disappointed in, but perhaps my RT-AX86U has spoiled me on this?

Trying an EAP670 to (maybe) switch to omada to replace RT-AX86U

Duly noted. Though max transmit power on this unit is 28dBm on 5Ghz and 25dBm on 2.4Ghz. I believe the Asus pushes 30 on both bands, which is the legal maximum? I did notice something yesterday and I am further experiementing. The unit was self reporting as V1, on 1.0.9 firmware. Canadian site...

Trying an EAP670 to (maybe) switch to omada to replace RT-AX86U

Good day everyone. I currently own 2 Omada managed switches(TL-SG2008 and TL-SG2218) and have wired much of my home. I am currently using a mesh network with wired backhaul. Main router: RT-AX86U in PPPOE passthrough mode on fiber internet (1500 down/940up) Mesh node: RT-AX58U I have a third...

Allow guest network devices to access each other

What about wired to wireless, which would be my use case?

Allow guest network devices to access each other

Would this allow wired devices on the sane subnet/vlan to communicate as well?

Tutorial How to use VLANs on your non-pro Asus router with 386 or 388 code (no scripting required)

In an ideal world I would do both, VLAN with DHCP reservations. Hence my interest in this thread.

Tutorial How to use VLANs on your non-pro Asus router with 386 or 388 code (no scripting required)

The reason I ask is that if I can get DHCP reservations along with VLANs, I see no reason to upgrade my perfectly working network equipment. I have managed/smart switches on the way to my house to replace dumb switches so that if I ever make a move towards a controller etc the rest of the...

Tutorial How to use VLANs on your non-pro Asus router with 386 or 388 code (no scripting required)

Would you mind sharing the script for DHCP? Does it require Merlin?

Possible to do dhcp reservation on guest networks either on merlin or stock firmware?

Is this something that is achievable? Maybe my search skills are lacking but I was not able to find an answer to this

    RT-Ax86U PPPOE performance

They no longer give out the hh3000 do they?

    RT-Ax86U PPPOE performance

I'd be perfectly fine with not reaching advertised speeds, so long as my UL speed is higher than my less-than-ideal up to 50mbps I have currently. Food for thought.

    RT-Ax86U PPPOE performance

Nowhere did I mention purchasing new equipment? It’s all there, wired up and working. I would rather manage my network myself, and not rely on crappy ISP stuff. Stuff with which I’d be double-NATed with if I were to just hook it up as is. I’m running two NAS, 2 pihole + unbound instances...

    RT-Ax86U PPPOE performance

Would running my stuff in a DMZ circumvent this?

They’re offering the Giga Hub which looks like a fancier HH4000

    RT-Ax86U PPPOE performance

Good day to all, long time lurker, first time poster. I am considering switching ISPs from cable to fiber. Current plan is 400/50 but the 50 is hit and miss depending on congestion. I'm looking at 1.5Gbps/940Mbps as my next move. Thing is, I am currently using the ISP combo-box as a dumb...
