RT-AC3200 won't let me disable QoS in the GUI. Is there a line command?

Thanks Dave for the code. Easy! Toughest part was using telnet to get into the router for the first time without the port 23 blocked error. For anybody in the same boat, make sure you enable Telnet in the ASUS router settings under Administration>System toward bottom of page.

    UniFi Dream Machine

Anybody know what’s taking them so long to finalize testing of the UDM Pro and offer it to the public? The delay makes it seem like there are some nagging issues they are working out.

    UniFi Dream Machine

I believe the UDM has what amounts to a Unifi nanoHD AP in it, so presumably the range would be comparable, taking into account though where you would be placing the UDM. For instance, I would put the UDM or UDM Pro in a closet with my other networking gear, so would expect loss of WiFi range...

    UniFi Dream Machine

Not sure what the price difference will be between UDM Pro and UDM’s $300 MSRP, but for those wanting to avoid buying a WiFi router lacking WiFi 6 protocol for future proofing, the UDM Pro gives other features like 10G SFP+ and rack mountable instead. Dying to read some good reviews and hear...

    Asus RT-AC66U (not B1) v3.0.0.4.382.50470

I didn't realize it was such a big upgrade thanks Merlin.

    Asus RT-AC66U (not B1) v3.0.0.4.382.50470

Could be coincidence but since installing 3.0.0.4.382_50470 a few days ago my RT-A66U wifi lost connectivity a few times. Anybody else? **UPDATED - Clarified that the A66U wifi was stalled out but the router itself did not reboot based on the log reading**

    Broken power button

I joined the club on my RT-AC66U. What a weird way to lose internet! Opened it up after removing screws, pulled the spring, and 10 minutes later back in business. I’ve had this router a long time and ASUS is still supporting updates... have had Linksys, D-Link...and ASUS is still the best at...

Using VLAN vs. Guest Network on RT-AC66U?

I’m using the latest ASUS firmware for the AC-66U (3.0.0.4.380.8228), which I don’t believe has VLAN capability. I would like to segment my IoT devices off from the main network for security since these devices usually are weak on security. What would be the downside of using a guest network...

Difference Between TP Link SG108E Smart Switch v3 and v2?

SEM very helpful thanks. v1 and v2 of this switch were layer 2. Sounds doubtful v3 would be layer 3 without touting this all over the place. All my traffic is on the same subnet. I may employ VLAN later to break it up. The switch is VLAN capable.

Difference Between TP Link SG108E Smart Switch v3 and v2?

Version 3: http://www.tp-link.com/us/download/TL-SG108E_V3.html Version 2: http://www.tp-link.com/us/download/TL-SG108E_V2.html I haven't been able to determine anything other than support for fewer IGMP snooping groups in v3 vs v2 (32 vs 128). I don't believe v2 supports IPv6 and was hoping...

VLANs and ASUS RT-AC66U or other routers

I have an Asus RT-AC66U which works great for me with stock f/w (really like that Asus is still supporting it as opposed to my experience with Linksys which I will never buy again), but I want to segment my network so that a hack of an iOT device provides limited access to my larger network. I...

    Drops in Sys Log

Yeah I noticed some old settings that I can't remember why they are there... under Firewall>Network Services I have a bunch of entries filtering ports 7:9 both TCP and UDP to my router gateway IP (filter table type set to blacklist). I should have written it down... thinking it had something to...

    Drops in Sys Log

This is really helpful stuff Colin, thanks. It looks like a few of these groups scanning my ports are focused on 5060. Since I use an SIP phone, I'm a little concerned with that. I've never allowed Telnet or any kind of administration from the WAN. I am running 3.0.0.4.380.4180 on an ASUS...

    Drops in Sys Log

Thanks... it sounds like these are pings from suspicious characters... and good that their pings are dropped. It would be nice to be able to add the pinging source IPs to a blacklist but I don't think there is an easy way to do this... and I'm guessing it's unlikely that any of these pingers...

    Drops in Sys Log

Trying to figure out WTH is causing drops in the router's system log for an ASUS RT-AC66U with Motorola SB6141 cable modem. Drops seem to happen in the wired connection between the router and the cable modem since the cable modem MAC address is referenced over and over, but just spit balling...

    ASUS RT-AC66U 3.0.0.4.380.4180 Firmware

I think I remember the client list showing initially and then no more... hopefully your client list will continue to show. Which browser/platform/version are you using?

    ASUS RT-AC66U 3.0.0.4.380.4180 Firmware

Thanks. Getting the same result on the View List issue no matter the browser used. My main browser is latest version of Firefox (50.1.0), but had same result w/Chrome 55.0.2883.87, and latest versions of MS Edge and IE. All are on Windows 10 x64. On Firefox I allow the router page to open...

    ASUS RT-AC66U 3.0.0.4.380.4180 Firmware

Having issues with this 4180 update... Network Map not showing any connected clients under "View List" button even though many are connected (22 devices wired + wifi). Other threads report the same issue on other Asus routers... saying this is likely a javascript fail but curious what others...
