Sudden increase in neighbour's Wi-Fi usage

Pro tip. Cover all your walls, floor and ceiling with aluminum foil. Then you'll be shielded from your very inconsiderate, band hogging neighbor, and you can stop 'complaining' or whatever your OP was about.

    >$70USD Binardat 8 Port 2.5G Switch with addl 10G SFP+ Port

One month of stress test. Not a packet dropped, AFAICT. Definitely not a "hot" deal. Just a good, "warm" deal. BTW, the price is down to 64$ USD on Amazon for Black Friday. I just might pick me up another.

Is the Eero Pro 6 A Downgrade From the Asus RT-AX58U?

AFA as a privacy downgrade, absolutely! With Eero almost all mgmt functionality that's local to ASUS routers is behind a subscription paywall with Eero/Amazon.

    >$70USD Binardat 8 Port 2.5G Switch with addl 10G SFP+ Port

No it doesn't (it's layer 2) otherwise I'd be alerted by my OPNSense firewall, plus we'd have heard warnings from all the security orgs not to purchase these if it did. I have a lot of foreign IoT devices, so I am constantly on the lookout for ET phoning home...

    >$70USD Binardat 8 Port 2.5G Switch with addl 10G SFP+ Port

We'll see. Stress testing it now. If it holds up, then I supposed that makes it a hot deal. If it dies, I'll have a nice $68 paper weight.

    >$70USD Binardat 8 Port 2.5G Switch with addl 10G SFP+ Port

Finally an 8 X 2.5gps port switch for less than $70 USD with coupon on Amazon. The price being the lowest I've seen other than on AliExpress, I had to pick me up one even though I don't have a current use-case specifically for it. It handles jumbo frames and does not strip vlan tags. Also has a...

Temp AX88U Pro, Ideas to improve router temperature.

Fans will fill electronics with dust which is self-defeating thermally. That's why I keep mine on top of air-filters (and change the filter every now and then).

Have you considered changing username to CaptainObvious?

    Et8s flash blue

This is what i was referring to AFA wireless backhaul with the ET8s because they only have a single 5ghz and 6ghz radio. If using the 6ghz radios for backhaul, you are guaranteed to get dropouts and disconnects unless the nodes are w/in 10 feet of each other. A human body walking past and...

    Et8s flash blue

ET8s should only ever use wired backhaul, otherwise you'd be better off with XT8s.

    2 x ASUS GT-AX6000s for sale - excellent condition - US only

https://rog.asus.com/us/networking/rog-rapture-gt-ax6000-model/ It's with tears in my eyes that I'm selling my two pet tarantulas. Both are less than 6 months old and still under warranty. Not a scratch on them, and they were kept on top of air filters, so not allowed to get hot (heat degrades...

    TP-Link 5 port 2.5gb L2 switch $99 on Amazon

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08ZHGT2ZP/?tag=snbforums-20 I have one of these, and they are high quality. Support from TP-Link is great as well as this is considered a business, not consumer, product. They normally run about $140. Best feature IMO is they pass vlan tags.

pfSense vs. OPNsense AFA offloading logging, database etc to other hardware

So I'm currently running OPNsense on a no-name micro pc with a J4125 processor which has proven to be anemic afa running any optional applications that are cpu/memory intensive. It runs the core firewall stuff just fine, but there's a lot of analysis I'd like to do to get a good picture of how...

Unable to downgrade firmware on GT-AX6000s - I'm at my wits end.

You're absolutely right. Sure I could buy and install "good enough" or even high-end networking hardware that'll suffice and be done with it, but why do some guys constantly work on their cars trying every modification that will push the speed envelop another MPH or so? I'm the same way with...

Unable to downgrade firmware on GT-AX6000s - I'm at my wits end.

Hey I still use my Craftman socket set I got as a teenager. For shirts and grins I'm trying out the RAID(R) experiment - Redundant Array of Inexpensive 6E Routers. Given that we're right next to a class bravo airport and its 24/7 approach/departure radar, it makes more sense for us to use the...
