    80mW vs 40mW

    In the location that I use the most on the 5GHz band( 20' away one floor down from the router)--the RSSI went from about -58 / -60 range to -54 /-57. I believe the mW default set on my e4200 V2 is 100 mW so I thought I would try the same for the N66U.

    80mW vs 40mW

    Using Ver .108 stock, I've set both bands to 100mW ( for about two weeks now). I haven't noticed the unit getting any warmer and I saw a direct correlation between 100 mW and better RSSI.

    Yes I was surprised to see CNET's N66U 2.4 lower than expected test results for both 450Mbps clients as well as non 450 clients leading me to wonder about ver 108 as well. Likewise I don't think we can dismiss potential effects of environmental factors either.

    Opps my bad. :o Upon further investigation I found the Win7 Media Server Sharing option was turned off on my win7 PC( not sure how that got turned off). Once I turned it back on, all was well again and I was back to streaming pics/video to my networked TV via the N66U.
