[RELEASE] TAILMON v1.0.8 -May 3, 2024- WireGuard-based Tailscale Installer, Configurator and Monitor

Tailscale works fine for me, hardware acceleration staying enabled. On a RT-AX88U_Pro, RT-AX86U_Pro, AX86U, AX86S.

scMerlin scMerlin 2.5.3 - Service and script control menu for Asuswrt-Merlin, April 30, 2024

@Martinski @thelonelycoder Wanted to say thanks for the option to disable NTP check. I swapped out my main router and a node, and did a complete factory reset. I wanted to get the new router almost virtually online before the swap that way downtime was minimized, so being able to have...

[RELEASE] TAILMON v1.0.8 -May 3, 2024- WireGuard-based Tailscale Installer, Configurator and Monitor

Just another shoutout to @Viktor Jaep and everyone else on how great this is. I took the plunge and did a factory reset and built everything from the ground up. This script made installation of Tailscale almost seamless in comparison to the manual method!

scMerlin scMerlin 2.5.3 - Service and script control menu for Asuswrt-Merlin, April 30, 2024

I definitely agree that keeping the hash check is important.

scMerlin scMerlin 2.5.3 - Service and script control menu for Asuswrt-Merlin, April 30, 2024

Neither. Because I have modified the script, AMTM and the script itself both report that an update is available. An option to disable ntp check would stop this from happening.

    Asus vs. Orbi

I have two independent networks, a home network and a small office Network elsewhere. Both are Asus with AI mesh. I'm very pleased with both. You can try changing beacon to 90 or 80, but generally what I found is lowering the RTS is the best bang for your buck. Some may say enable or...

    Asus vs. Orbi

Definitely worth a try. I've used lower RTS thresholds because of certain devices and a more noisy environment. Before you go as low as 64, try something like 1200 or 1400, then maybe 768, then maybe 500, if you end up at 64 and then so be it. I generally don't see much of a performance hit.

scMerlin scMerlin 2.5.3 - Service and script control menu for Asuswrt-Merlin, April 30, 2024

@Martinski is spot on for all accounts. My fault if I do not enable it; I have some unique occasions/use cases when wan detection may fail (or not even be available) during initial router restart yet I still desire to have the SCMerlin gui available, without waiting 10 minutes. I have manually...

scMerlin scMerlin 2.5.3 - Service and script control menu for Asuswrt-Merlin, April 30, 2024

Any possibility to add an option to toggle NTP_Ready() ? I comment it out to prevent stalling when the WAN connection is down.

DDNS, AX86U-PRO, inadyn isn't called after wan IP change ?

Does your WAN IP actually change when you toggle the switch? I know with my ISP, I either have to leave the modem off for hours or more, or change its Mac address in order to get a new IP provisioned. If you don't have a new IP then there's no reason for any update to be pushed.

    Tutorial **Tailscale On Merlin**

Just catching up on these threads. I am so glad to see this level of interest!!! My install has been running flawlessly. I have had to factory reset a few times (nothing to do with tailscale, rather testing some other things), and been able to successfully install using the CLI commands...

    [ 3004.388.7 alpha 2 Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

If you didn't set it or enable the services that are listening on those ports, then someone else has admin/root level access to your router.

RT-AX86U Pro firmware - will it get 3.0.0.6?

The barely better processing specs are not worth $20 more if you hate the 88's design and want 2 USB ports.

    URL addresses management

As a father of 5, if you have a problem with your son naturally obeying your requests, then you shouldn't be allowing him to stay up until midnight. He should be going to bed at 9:00. If I had the same problem it sounds like you have, the entire internet would be blocked starting at a 9:00 bedtime.

What do you mean by limiting at 9pm but blocking at midnight?
