The Amped Wireless REC44M is a MU-MIMO enabled AC2600 Wi-Fi range extender in a fairly large wall-plugged format.

As MU-MIMO devices become more common, manufacturers are moving to mainstream the technology, incorporating it even into wireless extenders. Linksys and Netgear are are already shipping their MU-MIMO enabled RE7000 and EX7300 extenders announced at CES2016.

Amped's REC44M is powered by a dual-core processor and has 16 transmit power amplifiers, eight low-noise receive amplifiers, and 4 dual-band high gain antennas (2 internal, and 2 external). The AC2600 REC44M supports maximum link rates of 800 Mbps at 2.4 GHz and 1733 Mbps at 5 GHz with devices capable of supporting those rates and is touted to cover up 12,000 sq ft.

The REC44M also includes a GbE port for bridging other networked devices.

Amped Wireless also adds setup tools to make installation less of a chore by including a mobile app, and a signal strength LED to help find the best possible sweet spot for optimal Wi-Fi signal strength.

The AC2600 Amped Wireless REC44M plug-in Wi-Fi range extender will retail for $169.99. It can be ordered from ampedwireless.com now, and will be available at major retailers in the next few weeks.

Neat...

Begs the question - how well it will perform when there is a big piece of copper between the antennas... (e.g. a power cord)

and how long before it works its way lose and causes a fire hazard , we have enough issues with these big power bricks , looks like way to much displaced weight and pivot point to me

Would be cool if someone did a double outlet passthru (there are some that do a single outlet passthru) - these small repeaters don't use a lot of power, and it would be more user friendly...
