Asus ddns service

So when I originally got my ac66u I needed replacement. I had already set up ddns through Asus. They told me that name was tied to the router and there was nothing I could do about it I had to select a different name, so I did. Now I have the ac88u coming and it just dawned on me. Is this still true? Do I have to change my ddns yet again?

If you still have the old router, just change the old router to a random name. That should free up your original name to be reused with the new router.

Gotcha wish Asus told me that before I sent the original back I'll make sure I do that on my current router before I set up the 88u

After some time (60 or 90 days) your old DDNS will be again available.
