ASUS RT-AC87U 2.4 GHz network - no pptp under windows 7

I can not connect to a Fortigate VPN from my Windows 7 machine when it is connected to the 2.4 GHz network on my ASUS RT-AC87U device.

If it is connected to the 5 GHz network, the vpn connects fine.

My mac connects fine to the same VPN on either network.

I'm not sure what can account for this behaviour.

Has anyone seen anything like this?

I updated my firmware to the latest, and this behaviour has stopped - I can now log in to the vpn on either the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz network.

It would really be polite to indicate the firmware you had with the issue and the firmware you have now (for others in the same boat).
