I have been struggling with trying to create a VPN server using an Asus RT-N66U on firmware 3.0.0.4.376_1071. After struggling to get it to work for many hours, I still cannot get my Nexus 5/7 to connect to the VPN.

Each time I try to connect to the VPN from one of my devices, I get this in the system log:

Code:
Jan 11 23:49:22 pptpd[2930]: CTRL: Client pppd TERM sending
Jan 11 23:49:22 pptpd[2930]: CTRL: Client pppd finish wait
Jan 11 23:49:22 pptpd[2930]: CTRL: Client 192.168.1.46 control connection finished
Jan 11 23:49:50 pptpd[2942]: CTRL: Client 192.168.1.46 control connection started
Jan 11 23:49:50 pptpd[2942]: CTRL: Starting call (launching pppd, opening GRE)
Jan 11 23:49:50 pptp[2943]: Plugin pptp.so loaded.
Jan 11 23:49:50 pptp[2943]: PPTP plugin version 0.8.5 compiled for pppd-2.4.5, linux-2.6.22.19
Jan 11 23:49:50 pptp[2943]: pppd 2.4.5 started by admin, uid 0
Jan 11 23:49:50 pptp[2943]: Using interface ppp10
Jan 11 23:49:50 pptp[2943]: Connect: ppp10 <--> pptp (192.168.1.46)
Jan 11 23:49:53 pptpd[2942]: CTRL: Ignored a SET LINK INFO packet with real ACCMs!
Jan 11 23:49:53 pptp[2943]: Peer admin failed CHAP authentication
Jan 11 23:49:53 pptp[2943]: Connection terminated.
Jan 11 23:49:54 pptp[2943]: Exit.

Alternately I get this message occasionally:

Code:
Jan 11 23:38:35 pptpd[2826]: CTRL: Client pppd TERM sending
Jan 11 23:38:35 pptpd[2826]: CTRL: Client pppd finish wait

Jan 11 23:38:35 pptpd[2826]: CTRL: couldn't read packet header (exit)
Jan 11 23:38:35 pptpd[2826]: CTRL: Fatal error reading control message in disconnect sequence

Jan 11 23:38:59 pptpd[2840]: CTRL: Starting call (launching pppd, opening GRE)
Jan 11 23:38:59 pptp[2841]: Plugin pptp.so loaded.

Jan 11 23:38:59 pptp[2841]: pppd 2.4.5 started by admin, uid 0
Jan 11 23:38:59 pptp[2841]: Using interface ppp10

Jan 11 23:39:30 pptp[2841]: Modem hangup
Jan 11 23:39:30 pptp[2841]: Exit

I really have no idea what to make of this. This whole situation has been very frustrating.

Thanks for the help!
