Product page: http://www.asustor.com/product?p_id=3&lan=en (yes it is for the 606, but that should have the same hardware as the 604)

I am waiting for the delivery of my 606, but I was a bit puzzled about one thing in the article you wrote. The NAS comes with 1GB SO-DIMM in a SO-DIMM slot, just like for a laptop, and it says the maximum memory is 3 GB. There is an extra slot, as viewed in the article images.

Yes, you can add 2GB in the extra slot, but can you not replace the shipped 1 GB SO-DIMM for a 2GB, thus achieving a total of 4GB?

When I get it I will of course try this and get back, but maybe someone already did this?

Expand the RAM for new ASUSTOR NAS

Hi, just came by and saw this, I think the 1GB inside is not gonna to be replaced. But I have seen the video tutorial on asustor youtube channel, there is one for RAM expansion on new 70 series. In this video, it shows how to add new RAM as well upgrade the built-in RAM. Maybe someone will be interested in checking out!

How do you plan to backup this beast?
