I was chatting with Xfinity about my "Boost" internet I am paying for which has never been above 30Mbs using speedtest.net. So the guy says, lets fix this and had me unplug everything, gave him the MAC address of Modem. He then said he wants me to reconnect after a minute or so, as he is going to Boost the signal.
Is he blowing smoke?
Made no difference. Cisco E3000 Wifi, and I was plugged in directly, well wife was.

What down and uplink speeds does Xfinity promise?

Want max speed? Connect by cat5 cable. Handheld things rarely need high speeds.

Remember too: WiFi is a two-way medium. A million watt access point or WiFi router won't help the pee-wee signal from most handhelds and laptops.

30-50mbs. Cat5 makes no speed difference according to speedyest
