Hi. I want to extend range of my AX-11000 and am looking for a budget wifi 6 extender. Not necessarily an Asus extender. I guess any would work fine? Or not? Should I go for an Asus product because of AIMesh?

I don't recommend 'range extenders', per se. I would suggest an AiMesh router such as the RT-AX58U instead.

Yes, you need an Asus product because AiMesh is proprietary.

I would recommend hold of buying any wifi6 product. Wait for 6E and then you can use ax11000 as a extender and new router which support 6e as a main one.

What is the timeline for 6E consumer products out the door? 2022?

Products? Not routers? 2025 would be my best guess. :)

I would expect Wifi 6E routers to start appearing at the end of 2020. As for clients, well who knows. The majority of devices currently sold don't even support Wifi 6 yet, so...
