Cant port-forward 1723 on ASUS AC56U 378.54_2 MERLIN FIRMWARE

Hi guys!

I seem to have some problems portforwarding 1723 in my router. After adding the rule, i went to system log -> portforwarding and found out that the port 1723 on both TCP and UDP has been port-forwarded

However when i went over to http://www.whatsmyip.org/port-scanner/ to check whether 1723 is opened or not. I was given an error that port 1723 timed-out.

It still shows that the port is closed...

Your PPTP server is on another machine I take it.
a. Are you sure the machine with the PPTP server has the right address? The one you setup forwarding for?
b. The machine has a firewall active? Try disabling the firewall or add a rule for 1723 TCP (not UDP)
c.Why don't you use the PPTP server bundled with your router?

I'm setting up PPTP on windows 8 PC, doing it for a school assignment...
Nvm i managed to solve it! For some reason, i went to update the firmware from merlin to stock and turns out that im able to portforward 1723 and then connect to my PPTP server on my PC ...

I meant downgrade haha... It seems that downgrading to version 3.0.0.4.378.4585 stock firmware is the only option for now. Will feedback to RMerlin about it thou
