apparently some routers will assume that if an ethernet frame's first octet has a 4 or 6, they may incorrectly assume that there is IPv4 or IPv6 data at the TCP layer, and this can cause some interesting results..

Not related to SNB level networks, but could be if one has an MPLS connection coming into a site - so this might be of interest to those who do consulting or support small business type networks

Just goes to show - this stuff isn't always easy ;)
