The new Neutron Mesh Surveillance System, model name EWS1025SCAM, is a hybrid access point/2 MP IP surveillance camera that EnGenius is targeting at residential integrators.
The access point part of the EWS1025SCAM is a dual-band Wireless AC device with maximum link rates of 300 Mbps at 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps at 5 GHz. Designed to serve up a wireless mesh network when used with other EWS1025SCAM cameras, the system provides the same benefits that other wireless mesh products have, including self-healing operations when a node in the network goes down, coverage optimization, and not having to run a cable to each EWS1025SCAM participating in the network.
For the HD camera, the EWS1025SCAM uses a Sony 1/2.29” Progressive Scan CMOS that captures 1920 x 1080P images at a 120-degree wide angle view. The camera provides night-vision with max range of 65 ft. in total darkness, has motion and sound triggering, and includes 16-channel video management software capabilities for split screen, live monitoring, playback and other recording options.
Powered by PoE, the EWS1025SCAM gives customers flexible options when it comes to placement and can work up to 325 feet from its Power-over-Ethernet energy source.
With a built-in wireless controller, the Neutron Mesh Surveillance System is also compatible with EnGenius’ Neutron managed switches, letting customers manage up to 50 EWS1025SCAMs. Alternatively, ezMaster network management software can manage EWS1025SCAMs locally, remotely, or via cloud service.
The Neutron Mesh Surveillance System (EWS1025SCAM) comes out this coming November with an MSRP of $475.
