Firefox tweak - save your SSD from excessive writes

Interesting item popped up in my RSS feeder - apparently Firefox writes a ton of data to save current browser state, and this can be a huge amount, even with the browser just sitting there idle...

This is not OS independent - so it affects Windows/Linux/Mac - easy tweak to fix...

FF and Chrome. Never had a good experience with them (ever).

Does IE do this too?

Firefox specific...

I keep it around, as there are some sites that work better compared to Chrome/Safari/IE...

Nope, not FF specific.

Update 1: We are testing other browsers. Currently in the middle of a Chrome Version 52.0.2743.116 m test. We have been able to see a pace of over 24GB/ day of writes on this machine (see here.)

Good to know - at least with FF, there's a work-around...

If Chrome is having an issue, then perhaps Safari (which is also WebKit), and Edge on Win10 might be a concern...
