It seems the latest firmware for GT-AX6000, 3.0.0.6.102_21514 came with the NTP date&time bug. Once updated with the new FW, the system cannot retrieve date&time. Since the date is not correct, automatic update will not work either and gives error. Had to roll back to previous firmware which runs stable and date&time is updated and correct.
I wrote to Asus about it, no response so far.
