FWIW: I was having a very similar problem and it turned out to be my modem

Thank you mate,

now im changing original Comtrend modem-bridge to my old TP-Link 8910, working Bridge mode too.

i will post next days with the results.

In the other hand, is there a explaing guide to understang ASus log files?
:)

While things seem to be pretty stable for me with the 88u and Merlin's latest firmware, I did have an internet lockup just now. Wifi was fine, but everything connected to the Internet lost connection. The cable modem lights indicated everything was fine. When i rebooted the router, everything came back fine.

Does anyone know why this type of thing might happen? I'm wondering if the ISP reassigned an IP address, and the router did not pick it up, or if it is some lockup in the router firmware. Unfortunately, rebooting the router cleaned out the relevant log folders.

hello

i changed Comtrend bridge to TPLink Bridge.

on sunday it worked with only one drop, but yesterday Monday. i had several drops and 5 consecutive in a 5 five minutes interval.

is very hard........

Could it be a problem on your ISP side. If, for example, they are dropping and reassigning IP addresses for your cable/modem, it might cause the router to need to be rebooted.

There is a history of threads on this issue going through various firmware revisions and routers. Doing a search for dropped connections etc will net you a bunch of good info.
Primarily the theme is the 'issue' is with the ISP when dhcp releases/renews your IP lease. I don't remember the specific communication issue between modem/bridge and router, that info has been retreaded plenty of times in the forums (gotta love the search feature!), but usually dhcp lease was the issue. Some threads have info on what you could possibly do on the router (though they are from older firmware and may not apply any longer). One of the primary suggestions was to shut everything down and unplug everything, completely disconnect the modem from power source AND cable/wan connection (this is key) and let it sit for a solid 10-20 minutes if not more so the ISP releases the IP/resets the connection totally. Some people had issues they had to contact the ISP for as their dhcp servers actually had an issue that needed to be handled on their end. They were getting constant and excessive drops causing their service to be virtually unusable.
In other situations it was a bad router, but not as common.

VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE

finally i found the problem of my connection Drop.

And it was a program called MEGADOWNLOADER which is a program that allows the user to download without waits between files.

when my wife launch this program our modem seems to be reset with no reason.

i tried to get information on how it works this program over internet but i didnt found nothing.

could be possible that the program forces my modem to reboot and get new IP to avoid MEGA limitations about download?

thank you all for your support, you help me a lot with the origen of my problem
