:) I am student and I did test with 3:1 and 1:1 and I would write why did test results happen. it can be round robin weighted algorithm. Asus wrote a special algorithm?
Maybe or maybe not. ASUS firmware, as with most companies, is proprietary. Methodologies used for particular functions may be known or variations of known. Patent infringement is a serious crime so manufacturers tend to be original.

I think that's unlikely.

I don't use the current Asus firmware, but on the older "legacy" firmware they were simply using Linux's iproute2 and the next hop & weight parameters. I don't know whether they're still doing that.

It's just your general weighted routes, handled by the Linux kernel.
