I am interested in taking a home-study type of computer networking course. It could be either online or CD-type. Cost could be free or modest cost, maybe up to $200 U.S.

I have done some home networking work (mostly wireless) and educated myself as needed in order to get the job done, but have now found a desire to learn more about networking from an organized program. This is only for my personal benefit. I don't plan to use the knowledge that I gain for employment. My background includes the assembly of a few PC's over the years as well as classes in Microprocessors and Assembly Language.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to a networking home-study class that will meet my needs?

For wireless, I'd recommend the Certified Wireless Network Professionals (CWNP) courses. There are many levels to choose from.

For general networking, maybe the CompTia Networking course.
