As of last week (when I last checked with Asus), there was still no news or ETA regarding the RT-N66U driver situation. Development has been focusing on the RT-AC56U firmware trying to get it ready in time for the router's official release.

As usual Asus makes priority on getting new router models out to market but the customers who already have existing routers are not so important for Asus it seems...

Agreed, Asus should be making this more of a priority. Really want to love my N66U.... :(

I disagree. RT-N66U users have the option of using 3.0.0.4.270 release which was stable - it's only a beta release that has stability issues. The RT-AC56U and AC68U won't have that luxury, since they are working on getting a first firmware version ready for their release.

It's not as if the RT-N66U didn't have any stable FW release to revert back to - it does.

Agreed. 3.0.0.4.270 has been rock solid for me.

Regarding the N66U there are numbers of choices regarding firmware and versions. I myself prefer atoUSB Shibby on the N66U but my AC66U is another
thing just waiting for a version with a stable Broadcom driver and Asus making
advertisment for newer AC-models when there is still issues with the firmware . I can¨t understand how Asus are thinking ....
