IOS ASUS router APP updated to 1.0.0.0.91 on March 23, 2018.

My setup:

AC5300, FW: 3.0.0.4.384_20379, Router
AC5300, FW: 3.0.0.4.384_20379, Node 1, wired to Router
AC5300, FW: 3.0.0.4.384_20379, Node 2, wired to Router

With new APP:
  1. 15 Wireless clients show in APP. 26 Wired in APP.
  2. APP only shows WiFi clients in the AiMesh tab.
  3. Web GUI shows 43 clients. Some are still missing from APP.
  4. See next post for Web GUI.
What are others seeing? Is new APP version working as intended?

Web GUI screenshots attached. Still missing some wired clients in APP.

I count 17 Wireless clients in GUI but only see 15 in APP.

When I look at AiMesh nodes in the router I see both Wireless and wired clients.

Maybe App or Firmware needs further improvement

I would ditch the app and ignore the client lists for now. If something isn't working, then look into it. ASUS is releasing half-bakedware... it's a waste of time playing with it.

Hi OE,

Sigh, it's my nature to help :D.

On the plus side, the APP is very helpful to check if devices are shifting nodes when you move.

OTOH, if we don't tell them about what we see they may never be aware of it.

I agree, except when it comes to the obvious and generally superficial half-baked features, I'm pretty sure ASUS knows these things are unfinished business... the sort they can push out/set aside to expedite their field testing without serious consequence... aka "display issues". They already know this stuff isn't working precisely yet... any AiMesh client list is a testament to that.

That said, my upgrade from a 2x68U to a 2x86U AiMesh seems to be worth it... time will tell. I'm running with the Smart Connect defaults and Airtime Fairness disabled. The routers are pretty far apart at 95 feet spanning brick walls. I think I've discovered here that window glass and metal screen attenuates more than brick and drywall.
